M7 Strut Tower Brace on R50?

has anyone tried fitting a M7 strut tower brace on a mini cooper? and does it not fit because of the battery box or is the hood to short? your responses would be great appreciated thanks.

I intalled mine a while back and love it. I removed the under lining of the hood so I wouldn't get that flex I've heard about. After a couple of weeks, I noticed two little "nipples" on each side of my hood. I popped the hood and saw that the two "nipples" came from the outer bolts (two at each end to adjust). Peter from M7 told me that the their STB wasn't fabricated for the R50 due to the differences in it's hood. I've also been told that others have installed the STB with the hood liner still intact, and only have a little gap with the hood flexing (no nipples). Needless to say I love it and still have it on mine. A big plus with the R50 is that the brace fits snug over the battery cover and secures it well.

So does this fit in the R50 with or without damage?

I've seen it fit on a couple Cooper non S car, but I've also seen it dent the hood on a couple Coopers. Proceed at your own risk

What other strut tower braces will fit the R50 without the possibility of denting the hood?

This is what I'd like to know...

I've been told the JCW fits, but you will need to take off the battery box cover, or buy one of the low profile ones...

I got a set of those nipples on the hood as well! you should have the eye of an eagle to see mine though !
the M7 strut tower brace does fit with a slight and easy battery cap surgery and I have to say it is amazing!
before installment I suggest you pay close attention to your strut towers!!!if bent DO NOT install or else the nipples on the hood will just be the first thing to worry about!

Sorry, It's been a long while since I've been on this site. Regarding the "nipples" the M7 strut tower brace leaves is caused by the four bolt heads that secure the bar to the strut tower braces. I've replaced the four bolts with bolts with low profiled heads. I no longer have the "nipple" causing issue. Just thought I'd update this thread just in case somebody else comes along reads this thread.
