So I was at Walmart the other day...

I was at Walmart the other day buying random stuff. (Basically what Walmart is for.) So I bought 2 plastic storage bins and my friend was bringing his computer over so that we could work on it. So we got all this stuff and
we were outside Walmart and we looked at my car and were like S***. This most definitely will not fit. Then I was like sure it will its time for.......TETRIS! So all in all we manged to fit all of it in there. Here are some pictures.

Mini so totally can hold stuff.

Ha ha! It definitely helps to have 'the packing gene' when you own a MINI. I loaded up 10 storage bins from The Container Store into my MINI one day while some idiot stood in the parking lot next to his SUV watching me. Clearly he was expecting me to give up. Nope, I had room to spare.

But sometimes I wish I had a Clubman.

Haha right on! Never give up. I think I have convinced my dad to buy one of the clubmans so I may be able to mooch of him every once and a while hehe.

When I saw your photos I thought of MTTS. My dad and I did the Monterey to SB in our convertible. That was interesting, but we managed to get everything in the car for 4 days. I packed a lot of my stuff, and my dad brought along a considerable amount as well. MINIs sure can fit a lot of stuff. You just have to know how to play packing Tetris!

It will be interesting this year when I use my MINI to move out of the dorms. Everyone always shows up with trucks and moving vans. I'm going to do it with my MINI!!!

We've done COSTCO, with big bags of dog food but no bulky items like furniture. Here's our most impressive feat yet,

School Fund raiser and undaunted MINI!

Hey Varga Girl! Here's an idea if you have lots of stuff to clear out of the dorm...

Enlist some local NAM friends and show up with a fleet of MINIs!

Last time I was at Walmart, I picked up a 100% lambswool wash-mit. On sale, $6.99. Sweet deal. Skin inside the mit and all!

VargaGirl, SomethingNew71, this has all he makings of a legendary MINi event!

The MINI Fleet Retreat from "STATE YOUR NAME" University.

Alas I'll be teaching in Texas or roadtrippin' in Michigan around that time, I think.

You've got to do it!

Wow, I only joined this forum about two weeks ago, and already I'm being set up to lead a fleet of MINIs from my dorm to my house. This is great! You guys are great!!!...there's only one problem, I only live about 15 minutes from my dorm. That's the reason I've got so much stuff. Easy access to my room at home. It'll take about 7-8 MINI loads, tops. I think with everyone on NAM, we could find someone to actually do this. Don't you think? MINI Moving USA...Est. 2008.

Haha for sure. Ever gone camping with just a MINI to hold everything and two people to pack for? Good times, right there.

About the only reason why I dislike my cabrio. Trying to put anything in it is ridiculous. The only way I can carry anything larger than a purse (my wifes, not mine ) is if I put the top down and lay down the seats.

The trunk is about useless.

i dunno, call me crazy, but I'm hoping to convince my wife and child to be adventurous, pack light, and drive from Texas to Colorado in our MCSC this summer rather than in the big tree SUV.

yeah, I'll agree, but I think putting the seats down leaves less room. I usually just lay a towel on the leather seats and put my bags back there. I took the Cabrio to AMVIV, and my bag was just about as big as the back seat itself, not to mention we had to fit all of my boyfriend's stuff as well. I use the trunk to pack little stuff like my pillow, car care accessories, the car cover, etc.

Call you crazy?? If your wife packs as much as mine, the phrase "pack light" doesn't exist in her vocabulary.

Actually, that's about right. I open the top and can throw a lot of "stuff" in the back seat. Then I can fill the trunk with my frivilous stuff.... eg. flip flops.

Caught at Costco today unplanned. Just so you know, the MCSC can hold:

40 lb. dry dog food
25 lb. cat food
24 cans wet dog food
9 lb. oatmeal (good for you)
3 lb. oatmeal cookies (not good for you)
a marine deep cycle battery
36 rolls of toilet paper
1 CD
1 DVD
and two adults

...Hey, I'm just having fun imagining how you got all that to fit!

Gives my mind something to think about other than the 10pg paper I've got to write.

This is so funny to read. My husband and I only have MINIs so we decide whether to take one so we can talk during the trip or two. Often we bring two if we take the dog cause she has her own stuff. Anyway we took one on a two hour drive to the beach. We were staying a week and brought most of our own groceries and all the beach paraphanalia. We just HAD to stop at a farmers market on the way and get some fresh fruit and veggies. Needless to say I ended up with a watermelon nicely tucked on top of the emergency brake pull (Fits nicely and doesn't roll) and bags bewteen my thighs. Good thing there was only 30 minutes left in the trip. Counldn't find my camera to take a photo!
