Tire Shop – Charlotte ?
Tire Shop – Charlotte ?
Hey everyone! My regular tire shop that I’ve used forever and a day is in Atlanta. I’m currently shopping around for a new set and am wondering where do the Charlotte folks go for their tires?
Looking for reliable, no BS, good service, and great prices.
TIA for any recommendations

Discount Tire on South Tryon at 485 is very good. They don't damage your rims, they do quality work, and they stand behind their work. I had my M Coupe tires done there several times, and when we had to replace 2 nail-damaged run-flats (at 8k miles) on the MINI, they did a great job on it as well.
yeah I'm seeing a trend here.
I have never used them. I've always used independent shops in California and Georgia. Neither of which are an option at the moment.

The discount tire shop at Concord Mills did an excellent job on my MINI. They were even able to get my wheels $250 cheaper than the other vendor I was going to go with, which was nice. Plus, you get free lifetime balancing and tire rotation when you go with them, also nice
I'd been going to my usual tire shop for so long I didn't even know other places made ya pay for things like rotations, balancing and nitrogen I'm so out of the loop.
I've put the call in to one of the shops, got the prices, now just need to decide if I'm going to round out with three to match the one I had to have put on (and be marginally satisfied) or get a set of 4 that I'll really enjoy. Anyway, thanks again for all the input!

ended up ordering 3 tires from Discount Tire at 485 & S. Tryon. Took a bit longer than I was originally told for them to come in, but oh well.
They did call to let me know when they arrived, and I had them mounted over the weekend. Was a bit odd to be to go to a tire shop that doesn't do alignment, but I suppose I've been spoiled by my previous shops in GA & CA.
They were busier than all get out, but Mr Q was taken care of promptly, the staff was all nice as can be and ... no one had to come in and ask me where the wheel lock key was. a bonus.
Should I get caught needing tired immediately, I wouldn't hesitate to go there again. Didn't get the tires I actually wanted, but I was matching up an oddball one I had to get (from some place else) when the one blew out.
Thanks for the recommendations! Much appreciated.

About eight months ago, I bought some tires for my previous vehicle, non-Mini. I priced both Goodyear and Discount Tire near Concord Mills. I then went online to TireRack.com and saved about $250 on a set of four (yes, I was comparing apples to apples, tires only, not the all in price). The tires were drop shipped to a local shop that did the mount, balance, alignment for a very reasonable price.
Even if you use TireRack.com to check the price and make sure you are getting the best possible.
PS - Sorry I didn't see this before now.

I have the luxery of being albe to use a buddies machine to mount my own tires and save hundres a year doing so. please note there is a website called discount tire and another one called discount tire direct. The direct one has free shipping and doesn't charge tax. the other does. aftter removing the ad ons like tire disposal and warranty there is more than $170 difference in price. That's a lot just to install a set. As a side note my buddies shop does dispose of tires legally but he doesn't charge me for it. If you can get tires mounted this is a good deal.
