Brought my MINI in for a long list of service.... Including a new recall. Anyway....as my service advisor is going over the car she notices a spot on the rear spoiler where the paint is chipping. Great! From the damn factory too! No body work! Now, MINI has to come out and look at it before it can be repainted. Ugh.

That Sucks. My paint is chipping too but it must be from all the raod debris (Rocks, bags, branches) I hit when I drive all over the Northeast for work. I think has some very thin paint on there cars.

I do not think they Paint cars at the factory tlike they would in a body shop, I believe they use a different process that adheres the paint to the car.

That is too bad. You can't catch a break!! I actually saw your MC at Westchester BMW recently and I was hoping that there were any problems. Good luck!

That's Rich!

They should gladly paint it and make it right for you! and you shouldn't have to wait weeks and weeks! -- but life doesn't ever give you what "should happen" .....

Keep us posted if you get any headache over it!

I have one drip, but that's on the bottom edge of the bonnet only noticable when the bonnet is open. I have what appears to be an eyelash embedded in the finish in the right rear quarter panel. I found this on Saturday while clar bar'ing my MINI.

Great! Now you can say that your Mini has British DNA, literally!

I think a fat Brit bumped into my MINI when the paint was still wet.

I have a dark shadow on my bonnet where it looks like the undercoat was wiped and then resprayed.

The car is at the dealer, now. They said it was clearly a mfg defect and would require a visit from a field rep to evaluate.

See ya,
JS
