The smallest size they come in is 225/40-18 which is 25.1" tire diameter compared to 24.4" for a stock MINI tire and too large to fit without rubbing.

Whenever you want to check on tires, look them up and check the sizes. No matter how good the tire, it is doesn't come in sizes that are MINI friendly then it doesn't matter much.

That's why you always tend to see the same tires mentioned over and over.

I may be interested in the runflat version of these tires. TireRack shows that Pirelli P-Zero now has a runflat version in the 205/40-18 size. I am planning on getting some lightweight 18" wheels soon and I am looking for a set of 18" runflat tires that have the best possible performance. I may even take these new 18" wheels/tires to the track few times a year.

But there are no reviews on the runflat version yet. Can I assume the main difference between the non-runflat and the runflat version will be stiffer sidewalls? In other words, is it safe to assume the performance and handling of the runflat version is about the same as that of the non-runflat version? I am in the minority who likes runflats and I don't mind giving up a bit of ride quality as long as the tires will perform great otherwise.

 

I have the 16" zero nero and for an all season, you can find better. In snow they are horrible. They are not even as good as the original runflats I had.

I have since bought some winter tires for this time of year. When the zero nero's wear, I'll be looking for something different.

 

I'll second that I had a set of those except 19's on my Audi TT. They suck! I bought Goodyear's for the Cooper. They are quite a bit better on the ice not to sure about snow. I really can't take it out in snow because it sits so low.
