I had a chance to watched the movie this afternoon from the dealer. It's hularious and fun..fun..fun. This movie made me laugh and smile all the time.
The most exciting part is ...of course...the mini chasing scene...so cool.
The plot differ from the new Italian job. If you guys have a chance to get one, it
's worth.

 

I just found out the talk about it in June. Sorry but in Thailand this movie not shown yet until August, (New version). So when the sale guy asked me if I want to see the original! it's kind of cool. I'm impressed with the skill of the stunt as well. He is Italian, isn't he?
The unexpected secene for me was the mini go up to the top of the dome. I'm kind of OOOP ..god..

If my MINI stop half way of that, my heart would stop too even it's CVT not manual!

I don't think it is available on DVD yet. I got the VHS for Christmas this past year. I love it! I think it is so much better than the new Italian Job.

 

It's STILL not available on dvd in the US. You can get it in the UK, but the dvd won't play in region 1 (US and Canada) dvd players. Money hungry bastards!
Amazon originally had it with a release date of 11/10/2002 but it is still shown as "not yet released".
My guess is that it will be released to coincide with the dvd release of the new IJ. I'm hoping.
If you think it's a great movie on a tv screen (and it is), you should see it on a movie screen! It's totally awesome!

 

Haven't seen the old one yet. But, I did just see that the new Italian Job made $4.2 million at the box office this weekend, while 2 Fast 2 Furious only made $2.4 million. hehehe.

The original is on DVD (I have a rip of it). Check Amazon or search the web if you want it.

It was once available on DVD (as seen you can see here). The one on Amazon is a "Special Collector's Edition" re-release and the original DVD has been pulled off the market.

that is the same version as was supposed to have been released in the US. It has all the extras, including the scene of the 3 Minis "dancing" on an ice rink. I'd buy it in a heartbeat except that the dvd is for region 2 (Europe) only and won't play in region 1 (North America) dvd players.

Aimee, this is one time I have to disagree with you !! Even though I enjoyed the original, and this is the first time I've seen it, I really liked the new make over, better. I realy enjoy the classics, however, the new MINI really does it for me !!
I think the new one was more action oriented and just as clever !! I'm not a big Mark Walburg fan but Charlize Theron made up for that fact !!
