Children's Hospital Run

Check out the MINI5280 Calendar for the Children's Hospital Run on Sunday 12/9/2008: Children's Hospital Run
I missed this so you might have as well.

· Sunday, December 9th, 11 am meetup at The Children's Hospital (new location)
· Optional breakfast at the Breakfast King, 9:00 AM (SE corner of S Santa Fe Ave & Mississippi Ave)
· Bring new toys and boxes of toys. Target infants and teenagers. Please collect from your employer, friends and family.
· Please DO NOT wrap toys, rather bring them in the original manufacturer packaging
· Please avoid toys that might be made with lead paint (China) per current guidelines.

The Children's Hospital (new location):
13123 East 16th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80045 (we will have a specific meeting parking lot). Click here for map: http://tinyurl.com/2azcrk

The new Children’s Hospital is near the intersection of I-225 and East Colfax Avenue in Aurora, next door to our powerful education and research partner, the University of Colorado Denver and Health Sciences Center. As a result, all aspects of The Children’s Hospital mission – clinical care, education, research and advocacy – will be carried out at the same location for the first time. For more information, see: http://www.thechildrenshospital.org/

wish I could, but I will be working.

What will be fun this year, is it is at the new facility.

I will be posting this week

the exact location of the meetup once we get to Children's. As before, our host will meet us at the door with our gifts. Regrettably there is not a circle drive within which to park the MINIs any longer.

I figured you were going to post it. Some of us plan more than a week out however so I put it up for those like me.

We're supposed to head to a family gathering in Wyoming this weekend but it's still up in the air. If we don't go to Wyoming then one or both of us will join you, with toy in hand, for this great event!

I'll officially let you know via the calendar if we're going to be able to make it.

I'm going to have to see how slick the roads are tomorrow. Driving around a little today and last night and was sliding all over. It's my first winter in 4 years, so... yea.

Yes, oh Yes!

The Children have been told that we are coming. Further:
  • Our regular hostess, Barbara Agnelli has confirmed and we are expected
  • Parking: Park ON THE STREET (Children's Way) right between the Hospital and the Visitor Parking Structure Lot #1
  • Enter the facility from Colfax, turning on to Children's Way
  • Call my cell at 303-807-9483 if you have questions
  • What are we going to do with all of these gifts?
  • (and we don't have a rain / snow date!!)
Breakfast is at:
  • The Breakfast King
  • S Santa Fe and Mississippi, SE corner
  • Come meet the meanest waitresses in town!
See you there!

Jonathan

Hey Guys! I have the toys that my office donated but I had a hell of a time getting around tonight. I live in Ken Caryl and it's ugly out here. I had to gun it to get up my driveway and into the garage barely missing the side of the house. If conditions tomorrow are like today I am not comfortable taking my MINI out.
I will however bring the toys to someone if they want to take them in for me. Any takers???
Thanks!
Shannon

Actually - let me clarify. I will bring the toys to anyone that wants them in my Pathfinder. If need be I will take the Pathfinder to the hospital but I know that defeats the whole MINI idea. Not sure if that's acceptable or not??

Thanks!

We're still going to be there (not sure if I signed up). However, it might be an "honorary MINI drive" with us taking the Jeep down instead, and wearing a MINI pin in honor of our poor car...

Sorry J28, we live up north and can't make the pickup. Perhaps someone else down south can?

I think the main goal here is getting the toys to the kids. Be it a MINI, a SUV or a horse - I think it matters not. I will be judging the road conditions in the morning before deciding on MINI or SUV myself.

Ok - then Pathfinder it is unless roads clear by tomorrow morning.
Will try to make breakfast as well. My little MINI will be there in spirit if I have to SUV it. She'll just be safely tucked away in the warm garage.

Well anyone that can show up in a MINI - I salute you! But keep it safe, especially if you have sport tires the things are really slick on ice.

Please enjoy them. Kendall may have some more - certainly more creative ones - to post. Hang tight.

Nice pictures Jonathan.
We had a lot of fun and it makes you feel good too!
The turnout, despite the weather, wasn't too bad either.
Thanks for the opportunity.
