Idea stolen from the Hawaii people.

This afternoon I saw a red/white MINI Cooper parked at The Loop in Methuen, MA--NH "NIGEL1". It was basic, with cloth, no sunroof, and R83s.

I've seen many on the highway, but the only ones I've seen parked were in Newburyport MA, Amesbury MA, and two around Lake Winnepisaukee (sp?).

Saw three of them last month on Cape Cod. Plus I was running around in mine for the week as well.

Starting to see them more and more. Originally, evreybody seemed to have the "motoring spirit," you know, give a wave, flash the lights, at least smile. Now it seems most don't even acknowledge other MINIs. Oh well.

I agree, I think the Silver Cooper I flashed my brights at when I passed them on 28 in Falmouth last month just got irritated with me... :???:

I share a parking lot at work (in Norwood, MA) with two other MCSs... The MC I saw in Arlington, MA a while ago (Black /White) and a license plate that read "ITLNJB" intrigued me a bit, though...

I commute from MA to Dover, NH via 95 everyday, and I used to see on the average 4 or 5 a day. For a while I was seein this EB MCS with yellow roof, mirrors, and scoop. Wild color combination. Since I took delivery of my PS/PS MCS on June 21 I rarely see any. There's the occasional one traveling in the opposite direction, but yet to run into anybody going my way.
By the way, can I just say that the bug situation on 95 is miserable. I have to clean my windshield (glass cleaner and rag) almost every day. After one or two round trips I have a sheen of blood and guts from my radiator grille to the top of my windscreen.

^ That's odd. I drive from MA to Concord, NH (via Rt. 3/293) at least once a week and since the late spring have seen about 2 MINIs traveling the other direction each time I go. Also, several in the downtown Concord area. Prior to the spring, I seldom saw any...but it's been pretty constant since then.

Yep, the MINI's a bug magnet. Must be the angle of the windshield and front end. Same reason why we pick up stone chips like crazy too.

My commute is between southeastern NH and Lowell, MA (Drum Hill) via 495 and Rte 3, and I have only seen a couple of MINIs in transit since January--neither of them an S. Of course, I didn't honk or wave because I don't have a MINI yet.

Just wanted to drop some knowledge on you guys. I originally placed an order with Keith at MINI of Peabody, on December 5th. I was told 8 - 10 months, and I was ok with this... at first. Then I started to go crazy. I needed sooner. I called up Keeler MINI in Latham, NY. They had inventory, but nothing I wanted. Greg Reeth (Sales Manager) told me that he could put the order in for me that day (mid April), it would go into production in a couple days, and I would take deliver in early July. Well, I took delivery in late June, about 9 weeks after I called them. Their service was fantastic. They made it real simple to do all the paper work/financing/registration, and they timed it perfectly. My car only sat on their lot for a couple days. Also, it made for a decent road trip. My wife and me rented a car one way, and dropped it off at the Albany airport. It only took us 3 hours to get there once on the Mass Pike.
I just want to note as well, that this is in no way a slight to MINI of Peabody. The whole staff over there is fantastic. And, I still intend to service my car there. They just couldn't supply the product in a timely fashion. Both dealerships come highly recommended in my opinion.

MINIs are getting quite plentiful in Boston. I definitely see at least one on most days. There's a DS/W S a couple of blocks from me, and I see jurni's MC all the time. I see all of the colors quite a bit, except for silk green, but I even saw one of those the other day, parked in the TJ Maxx parking lot across from my apartment...

Peabody. I had a 9 week wait, but it was for a Cooper, not an S. My order went in at the end of April and I pick it up wednesday morning.

n_l, I work in Norwood also - perhaps I'll see you motoring about.

I saw a DS/W at the Dunkin Donuts on the road from Foxwoods Casino to I-95 in CT in mid-May. I didn't yet have mine. A man was driving it.

I usually see about 5 MINI Coopers on the highways during my commute from CT to PA.

To echo minichrist, I did the same thing last year when I got my MCS. I first tried Peabody and was told that the wait for an S was 6 to 9 months. Then I went to a dealer on Long Island, had my order placed the next day and got my car in about 8 weeks. All via the phone at MSRP. THEN I've dealt with Peabody for service and have been totally satisfied.

Peabody sells nearly every MINI north of Connecticut and east of Albany...so it stands to reason that they are constantly at the end of their order allocation.

Someone needs to open a MINI dealer in New Hampshire or Maine to lighten the load on Peabody.

tontobird, you COMMUTE from CT to PA?

jsun,

I commute once a week to CT for a few days stay, not daily! That would be a horrible grind, it's a grind anyway! But much less so in my new MCS. So, you CT people should look out for me on the roads around Norwich, Ledyard....DS/W. Went to the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI last Monday. That was nice.

When I went up to Maine in May I spotted a woman driving an EB MCS some where in Mass, I think I was in NH when I spotted another EB MCS heading south on 95, and I saw a Yellow MC heading south on 95 in Maine that same day. I did not see one other Mini while i was in Bar Harbor.

Thanks for the post. According to Keeler's website, the wait for an S is currently four months. I submitted some info and will call them tomorrow.

We have a couple of MINIs in town, DS/B MSC and... the light blue MC (which i have yet to see). i practically got whiplash catching the VR/W MC while a friend and i were motorbiking through the Vermont Mts.

i luv the Peadbody dealer. They were so much nicer than the Boston guys.

Ooooh, and there is an all black MSC at the facility where i have my fencing class.

They are few and far between but always a joy to see.

i'm located in central mass.

Hmmm. Latham charges a premium of $795 over MSRP and requires a non-refundable deposit but can deliver the car rapidly. What to do.

Saw 0 MINIs today.
