I saw one on a Mini I parked beside at Target today. It looks great but I cannot find it ( found lots of great places to get parts ) but only could find the mesh grille.

I was looking for the Chili Red.

Didn't see a place for a WTB: section on here, so posted in the only place that seemed someone would know.

 

Not sure what ya mean by louvered, but we are able to wrap many trim pieces in black/body colored vinyls

 

Actually the grille that is on one of the minis on your site.

If you mean a red grille (No stripes). You can go order it from your dealer. MCS came with a body colored grille unless you opted for chrome.

Figures, I got the mini so I could take my SS that I am fixing ( lots of work not really needed and costs alot ) and now spending all that money on my mini :D

 

R56 is different then the R53 and this is in the R56 area so one would figure this is for an R56

S comes with a Honeycomb Grille

Just-a-Cooper comes with a Chromed Slatted Grille

Chrome Line pkg can be added to the S to get the Chrome Slat Grill

The slatted grill does not come primed or in any color but Chromed

Slatted part # is 51-11-2-752-363 for the Chrome Slats only, does not include trim or hardware. This part could be painted or wrapped in any color desired.

 

I know there are a few threads about people taking Cooper grills and fitting them on an S (with some modification). From there you could either have them painted or wrapped in vinyl. There is no factory option for a slatted grill in the R56 S though.

Just finished getting back from the dealer ( Global Imports in Atlanta ) where I had to get a new temp tag due to some goof ups by the dealer on some paperwork, bummer but they are human.

The owner was really nice, and there it was. A 2007 MCS with the grille I want.

I asked him, "Hey can you get that grille for me in Chili Red?"
He nicely replied "Sure can, it'll take about a week to 10 days"
I told him "SOLD, Order it"
He said he would and would call me later with the price .

Very interesting in that I looked at the MCS slotted/louvered grille compared to the MC regular with the same (or appeared to be the same grille) but the MCS has two very big cut outs behind the slots, and the MC has just a few drilled openings.

Then they were nice enough to run my little baby through the car wash and get her all nice and clean )

 

I wonder if they're just ordering in a chrome MC grille and painting it.

 

Nope, you can buy them in any color the MCS comes in.

 

Post a pic after it is installed, I am curious about this. I thought you could only get colored slats on the R53.

The factory aero kit (not JCW version) for the R56 non-S Cooper comes with body colored slat grill. That's where the dealer must be getting it from. For the S, the factory aero kit doesn't change the black honeycomb grill. Therefore, prepainted grills are not available in the S-exclusive colors. However, they should be available with primed slats for painting.

Since the colored slat grill is for Cooper fitment, you'll need to do some trimming/adjustment to fit on an S.

 

The mini at the dealer was an 07 mcs and was color coded.

 

I'm not doubting you. I am claiming that the grill part itself came from an 07 non-S factory aero kit.
