Help With Catalytic Converter

I have been running the Megan header with the included test pipe with my M7/Powertone exhaust for a few months now. It's a little too loud for me so I want to replace the test pipe with a cat. Anyone know what size I need and any suggestions on brand? (looking to take the cheapest route)

Buy a used stock header with the cat and weld it on to your megan. Someone has to have one laying around.

I still have my stock header but don't have the tools to cut and weld the cat. I want to just order a cat that I can bolt on.

You wont find a bolt on cat for a Megan or OBX header, sorry. I've been on that road, and there's no Walmarts. I ended up getting 2 race pipes and 2 cats welded up for me. That type of thing is best done in-car (and leave the car so they can weld them cold, as they don't fit so well if welded up hot/warm...

Its not hard to find one. Just order a cat online and take it to an exhaust shop and they'll cut out the test pipe and weld in the new cat. It'll take 10 min and very little $.

I don't know about you, but my M& exhaust is pretty dang loud with the stock header and cat, let alone parts that are a bit more free flowing. How much noise are you looking to knock out. Cause you may be looking for a quieter exhaust. Personally, if i put a header on i'd be finding myself another slightly quieter exhaust. But, thats what i get for buying one of the loudest exhausts i could find.

i liked the way it sounded with the stock header on....but when i put on the megan with the straight pipe it was a bit too loud...adding a cat should make it just right i think
