So I got my VIN today, (I bought a lot car from another city) can I find out some stuff about my car somewhere?

build date, option list, whether it had some options that weren't listed on my quote... usb plug, I don't know I guess I'll find out in a couple days anyway, but I thought there might be an easy way to check or something.

 

Give me your VIN i can check DCS possibly. you probably didn't get it from our dealership but i can check the service history which gives me all the options.

 

I'm in Canada, so I don't know if that'll work anyways. I thought people were looking up their info somewhere online and there was an easy place to do so. By the time you get the info to me, I'll have already picked up the car. Thanksfor the offer but It's too much of a hassle for anyone since I'm probably getting the car by thursday.

 

have you tried the owners lounge @ the MINI website?

 

If you do decide to call MINI, note that the number is 866-ASK-MINI, not 800-ASK-MINI.

 

Go to http://www.miniusa.com/ and click on Owners' Lounge in the bottom right.

IIRC, you then click on YOUR MINI. Or, perhaps they will have instructions for your first visit. You should be able to do some tracking from the web site, but it is not as up-to-date as the info ASK MINI will have.

 

I'm in Canada too. I emailed customer.service@mini.ca (you can also use the Contact Us link on the bottom of the mini.ca website) with the VIN number and requested a build sheet for my MINI. They replied within a day and attached a PDF file with all of the bits and pieces on my MINI.

Did you ever receive a Build Sheet from MINI Canada?

 

Sorry I forgot to update. I did get my build sheet from mini within a couple hours. Thanks for the help.

 

Yeah I emailed MINI Canada this morning and had a PDF of the Build Sheet by mid-afternoon. I was pretty impressed. Hope that level of service continues if I ever have a problem with the car.
