Interior/Exterior Automatic Roll Up Windows??
Does anyone know a way or a product to program the window control button to automatically roll up the window with a single press of the lever, similar to the way you can make it roll down???
It might be possible for your dealer to program these in. They may not do it, though, as there is definitely a safety factor involved. If the system doesn't have an auto-stop built in, then you could possibly have a serious accident with them. This is a very real liability problem that I don't blame MINI at all in trying to avoid.
Actually I believe the system is deliberately rigged to inhibit one-touch roll-up action, because some kid or dog would inevitably get his neck caught in there and, lickety-split, everyone involved would be on 20/20 wearing braces and weeping about how irresponsible MINI is. I don't believe ANY car sold in the US makes this feature available or possible.

The 2003 Acuras have auto-down windows.
The feature is needed most in a manual-shift car when pulling away from a toll both.
You need one hand to steer, one hand to shift and one hand to roll up the window.
Score one advantage for CVT and/or E-Z Pass.

There are many cars that have the auto-up function...the ones that I know of are my friend's lexus RX300 and another friend's 2002 325ci. I have tested both of these windows by sticking my arm while the auto-up was active (yes - I am a bit stupid) and both of them had sensors that made the window go down when it hit my arm. I don't know why the MINI can't have this option - it might siimply be the cost.

Wrong. All late VWs (Audis?) sold are capable of automatic roll-up windows. They're very convenient. They also have pinch-protection just in case Fido's head gets in the way. The moonroof of VWs also have pinch protection. This is actually one of the factory feature of VWs that I like.

Count me as one of the drunken fools that actually had a friend roll up a window on her head. This was over 20 yrs ago and even though it wasn't one-touch, she was holding the button and despite my screams, held the button until my head was firmly lodged in the window frame. She thought I was only joking and couldn't see me as I was in the driver's side rear seat. I survived and am here to say that even a pinch sensor is sometimes not enough to prevent one's head from being squashed.
