Low beam light went out, swapped bulb with other side to check the bulb.It worked in other side.Called the Mini Dealer and they told me it is the unit that powers the bulb that went out. They say it costs $450. Anyone know of another source?
Or if this is the real problem.

 

Its the ballast. Have you been to realoem.com to look at the part number? Once you have that one of the "dealer/vendors" on this site probably has a good discount program. You're in for a bit of a bill, but you can probably get a decent price.
