Painted control arms and exhaust tips. New decal!

I painted the control arms and exhaust tips with "Cast Iron" color engine spray paint. Paid $4.99. Looks good! And Finally received the decal I designed, inspired by the Porsche GT3 RS. The seller accidently sent only one. But you can't tell from the pictures, can you?

BTW, the wheels have not been washed for about 3 months. I don't plan to wash them until I have to sell the wheels. That's the natural look.

Love the painted control arms. I've been thinking that mine need to be painted, too, but I haven't decided on the color. Tempted to do them in red with matching calipers Which brand of paint did you use?

My wife helped me put it on but it still got a lot of tiny bubbles underneath. I don't know how the pro's do it but from 2 yards back, it is not noticeable.

The cheapest I could find. The paint job is lousy and I did only about 4 coats. From a car length behind, it is not as noticeable any more. I also sprayed some on the muffer.

I haven't washed them for 3 months. I just wash the car and not the wheels.

the decal looks great! But shame on you...wash those wheels before the brake dusts eats away at them (than you'll never sell them!)

I'm really starting to think that MINI's should come from the factory with H&R's.

Those wheels are disgusting. Why would you even bother putting a sponge to the rest of it and leave the wheels like that? I really don't get it.

That picture was taken seconds after the car came down from the jackstands. The shocks are very firm as we all can see. If the shocks were soft they would settle fast.
The wheels might be dirty but if I didn't say anything no one would have known.

Figured as much. While all stock MINI's seem to ride pretty high, I didn't think any ride quite THAT high. Mine was looking the same earlier today after it was on jackstands while my rear swaybar was adjusted.

As far as the wheels they aren't that bad considering 3 months without a wash. Granted my MINI just finished break-in but the wheels look like that after about 3 days.

Let's say I am doing a little experiment. I would like to know whether the wheels will go completely black OR if they will reach an equilibrium before going totally black and not get any darker. Mine has slowed down getting darker but I don't know if this is as dark as it will get.

You can also tell us if the brake dust does permanent damage to the surface, as rumors say. Thanks for offering your wheels to the cause of science.

I was going to powder coat my wheels black, but now I can save some money and just use the natural brake dust..

Looks good, man. But those wheels....argck! They're killing me!

When you go to sell them and you've got to break out the toothbrush and the Simple Green to get them clean you might regret not spending the 5 extra minutes per wash on them.

Or you might be able to get extra money because you had them (brake) powder coated.

I dare you to post a picture of those wheels in the Detailing 101 forum. I'm pretty sure you'd give at least three.2 people a stroke.
