Squeaking Seat Fix??

Hello All!

I have a problem with my 06 MCS. I have the leather seats and the lower left bolster/cushion squeaks against the plastic surround whenever I press the clutch. Naturally, this makes for a slightly annoying ride.

I got a temporary fix by conditioning the leather with the appropriate Meguiar's product. However the squeaking returned about 5 days later. Then I re-conditioned the seat again and it is ok for now.

However... I would like a more permanent solution. Any BTDTs? Is this a warrantiable condition? My car is all stock and within the warranty period. Thanks for your help.

My seat squeeks like no other too. But my squeeking isn't when I press the clutch-- it's when I start going in 1st. If I go REALLY slow, it will squeek only a bit. It also squeeks when I turn or shift my weight. I posted in a couple other threads, but no luck. It's so annoying!!

Any advice??

Barring any other advice, I am going to condition the hell out of the seats and see if they soften up enough over time for the problem to disappear. I noticed the seats were much more supple and richer in color after conditioning anyway... plus it makes the car smell like a leather bazaar inside.

Stuff napkins in the leather/plastic gap.

No sqeeks from my seats, but some clicking from the driver's seat at times cause I was rear ended once.

This is a really easy (3 Steps) and cheep Under $10.00 DIY fix:

Mini Squeeky Seat repair 101:

If you can roughly locate the source of the squeek run to you local art & craft supply store (Michael's) and get a small roll of 3M doublesided tape and some felt. I would try and get the same color as your plastic seat bolster.

1. Cut the felt into a strip as long as your seat is wide or deep and about 1 inch wide. (With out looking at my seat right now 18 inches x 1 inch)

2. Add the 3M tape to one side of the felt.

3. Push the seat leather back and put the tape side on the plastic surround where your seat is squeeking from make sure the leather will hit the felt it when you let go of the seat or sit in it.

I did all three sides of both front seats. (Left-Front-Right)
Why did I do both you might ask, I am **** and wanted them to match? Nope

I fixed my drivers seat and 3 weeks later, when it got cooler out and the leather is not as soft, the passanger side seat started making the same sound with people riding in the car. ( Why does your car squeek? )AARrrrrr

The felt will act as nice soft buffer between the plastic and cool "leather" and your squeek will be gone for GOOD.

I have squeaking problems when I start accelerating and when I turn but it only happens if I have a passenger. I tell them to hang on and be quiet and that usually takes care of it.
