Question about the '08 Cooper S

My dealer ran out of build spots for the '07 so I'm putting in a build for the '08 cooper s. I have some questions for you guys.

I'm well aware of the pricing/package changes seeing as how I just built one, but it's still unclear on what the actual changes to the car are.

Here's what I got so far:
1) Cold weather package now includes power folding mirrors.
2) TPMS is supposedly different? Dealer couldn't tell me how exactly. Edmund's says it now tells you which tire is low Anyone know about this? Where would it tell you this on a non navigation model?
3)Dealer said car will have auto up on driver's side window.

What else is different in the 2008 model year for the Cooper S? Any other fixes, new feature, etc.?

Maybe not initially, but down the road those folks who get Bluetooth integration are also supposed to get a USB connector which would allow them to play music files right off of a thumb drive (or other USB device).

I'd be envious if they had auto sport on mode and no dip in the torque curve.

right, forgot about that one. I don't plan on getting bluetooth, so that one is not a biggie.

I had heard about some changes with the cruise control display. Heard about that?

Actually, the late build 07's also have the new TPMS as well. I'm not sure about non-nav cars, but on nav equipped cars the new system does indeed tell you exactly which tire is low/flat, Here's what it looks like:

Also, AFAIK, the auto-up driver's side function will be a delayed introduction and so the first of the 08 models won't have that feature. See here:

Auto-Up Windows Delayed for 2008

So, at this point, there's no real difference between the 08 model and the later build 07 models except for the price changes.

thanks for that info. I'll have my MA check on that and hopefully I can get a software update if mine doesn't have it.

Curious as to how it'll tell you which tire is low on a non-nav.

What else is new?

reason I ask - Mt View Mini here in CA was telling their customers the same.. When other Dealers still several Slots left - Not sure how close the other dealers are but it might be worth checking - Unless you really want an 08 - keep in mind - you will not see that car in your driveway until maybe Feb/March??

Well in my '89 7 series it has a TPMS on the OBC w/out nav. The display says rear passenger tire, or front drivers side tire etc.

I got different answers from different dealerships. The Salt Lake dealership said the first available slots were for late Jan/early Feb delivery and the San Antonio dealer said definitely before Christmas. I went with San Antonio, of course.

I was told that the first '08 build slots were for a December production and that the car would be delivered in mid to late Jan.

For you other folks that placed build orders for '08, what does our MA say about the auto-up window feature?

The green tires change to different colors I believe (yellow for low or red for flat). However, I haven't tested this for sure yet as I'm just too lazy to go out and let the air out of one of my tires.

Maybe if you're lucky one of the local youths will do it for you.

That's for the navigation models. I was asking for the non-nav models.
