Lugs get rounded after changing tires a few times?

I was wondering if it is good to periodically get new lug nuts. I have 17mm sockets for the lugs. I noticed a *little* bit of play and the nuts themselves look like the edges are rounded just a little bit. I'm not sure if I did that or if the tire place that rotated my tires did it. (before I got the tools and the extra set of wheels.)

What are your thoughts? With occasional tire changing should I consider getting new lugs? or a second set? If so where is a good online store to buy some?

That shouldn't happen if the correct 6 pt socket was always used. Sounds like somebody used the wrong socket on them once.

I agree with rhawth99 ..... It should not happen with 6 pt sockets. They grip on the flat sides.

I've changed my wheels dozens of times with autocrossing and swapping back and forth from winter to summer tires. My stock lug bolts are still in great shape. I use a breaker bar to break them loose them, a cordless impact to remove and install them, and a torque wrench for final torque. No issues with rounding off the bolts at all.

AHHHH That's it. That's where I had my tires mounted... LAME!!! But as long as I continue using 17mm I should be fine then?

Also where is a good web site to order some new lug nuts?

I use the same exact process with a 17mm socket
