For all you Mini Cooper Drivers out there, this Group Buy is for you. As a heads up, all payments are going to be collected from PayPal, or Certified Check. Now to the Details. The Intake for the group buy is the Pilo Racing Green Twister Intake as shown below. We are currently testing the intake and the results including Dyno Charts will be posted before the end of the Group Buy so I will not hold any one to it if they happen to change there mind. (I do not think you will be dissapointed with the results. The MSRP is 278 for this intake. The Pilo Racing Retail Price is 265. The Group Buy will end July 19. I will be away from July 8 till the 12th for vacation so I want to have enough time after I return to make it all go smoothly.

The Group Buy Priceing is as follows:

5 intakes - $220
6-10 intakes - $215
11+ intakes - $210

E-Mail me at mini@thepilo.com for further details regarding this group buy.

Even though I don't own a Cooper yet, I might have to jump on this deal. The Green Twister and the Viper are the two intakes I have been considering. Do you know when you will have the dyno numbers? I'll have to see those before I decide.

Also, I am pretty much a novice when it comes to auto mechanics, so is this intake hard to install? I'm also assuming it will work with the CVT.

Thanks for any info you can return.
Shawn

The test unit will be installed next week, and dyno test's will follow. Install from what I know seems to be very easy. I have not tested it on a CVT but I will verify that everything will work.

I will see what I can do for the S.... At a low price of 145 right now, it is hard to get much lower, not like this saving for the MC, but we can try. I am still waiting for the second run off of the shields to come in, then we can talk about it.. for now let's keep on the MC only

MiniPilo, if you need a CVT in NJ to test the intake out on, I'd be happy to volunteer my MINI. The intake mount is a different size than on the 5 speed. So far the only other intake that fits is the Viper. We CVT owners need some help in the HP department.

I'm interested. Have you found out any more info in the California CARB process. Aoso, when do you think we would have them. I have a track day on 7/25 that I am thinking about going to. Probably will be too soon.

To be clear this is the cold air intake with all the tubing and such to get air from the front of the car correct?

Count me in. I emailed you about CARB certification for California. Looks like I'll get it either way.

Yes, this is the same one as is available from Mini-Madness.

Asodestrom, I believe that we could get it to you by then, depending on how many people join the group buy so that we can settle the price out.

I will look into the carb testing process and see what I can do about that.

If anyone is an almost positive, let me know so we can get the totals going. Once we hit 11, and the dyno's are done, we can start shipping at the lowest price. and it will stay open till the 19th to make sure that every one can get in on this deal!

I am interested, but need confirmation that it will 1) fit the CVT 2) actually make power in the CVT. Will it be the same situation as when you add an aftermarket exhaust, where the ECU takes a while to adjust to the change in airflow?

I'm thinking along the sames lines Retroom. I will probably go with it either way and risk street use or use it for track only. The cops aren't in a snit up in NorCal yet over intakes.

Count me in as almost positive, pending dyno results.

Anyone want to buy a pipercross (not viper)?

You can put me in with HARMINI.

When I do get a MINI it will be a CVT, so I need the same questions answered. I am also waiting to see the dyno numbers.

Thanks

I'm also waiting on the dyno numbers, as well as the ease of installation and fit quality. But I'm definitely interested.

It looks like 11+ buyers will be no problem. There are some on MINI2 who are interested also.

cvt, schmeevt. but seriously, is the intake any different on a cvt? I can't imagine why it would be, but then again I'm not an automotive engineer....
