What are you other CVT owners gonna do? I'm wary of purchasing a product that has not been tested on the CVT, even if the manufacturer claims it will fit. Is someone else willing to be the CVT guinea pig? ARitz? It looks like you're on the buyers list. Did you have the intake shipped to you yet?

Count me in.

When will they ship? If we pay by certified check, when does it need to be in?

The reason why Diamond doesn't really post Dyno number is becuase they get their dyno number from england. You know the whole deal with different atmospheric pressures, and tempertaures. I don't know, I guess it seems like a good deal. Hope it works out for you guys...
>>

Well actually we use a custom dyno that was engineered by Mustang Dynamometers exclusively for our location. This performance dyno has 42" knurled rollers, Eddy current PAU, and is capable of handling 1200 hp cars with speeds up to 160mph! The special design of this dyno allows us to accurately simulate conditions for a vehicle weighing as little as 1300lbs. This is VERY rare in the dynamometer industry with a dyno built to this performance level. This is accomplished by uncoupling two 1000LB+ billet flywheels from the roll shaft to reduce the amount of inertia that the vehicle has to propel. This is the most critical factor when dyno tuning vehicles. It is imperative that the inertia be equivalent to the weight of the vehicle being tested! The data acquisition available to customers is state of the art!

We can monitor:

Wide band O2
Exhaust Gas Temp(EGT)
5 Gas
RPM
Boost Pressure
Fuel Pressure
MAP
Cylinder Head Temp(CHT)
Oil Temp
Intake Air temp
Coolant Temp

All of this data can be graphed and overlayed over the HP and torque curves. The analysis of this data is very critical in understanding what a motor is doing and what changes will net the desired affect which is……….MORE HORSEPOWER!!!!!!

An exhausting list of repeatable tests are available: We can simulate acceleration, cruise, ¼ mile, towing, hill grade and any other driving situation you would ever encounter.

But, use we do post the factory numbers. So, I guess the secret is out.

diamini, it's great to hear that you have a top notch dynomometer at your location. Could you tell us then, what the results of the Viper intake were when installed on the CVT? This may be more appropriate to have posted on another thread, but I thought I'd ask here as you may come back to read responses.

Has anyone else noticed that MINI-Madness is offering the Green Twister for the Cooper on sale for a limited time of $195.00?

The link is in the Vendor Announcements section of MCO.

i just seen it too on the headlines page. my question is...is it the exact same product? all parts equal? still i too need to be reassured that it will fit my MC CVT. i think whoever can assure me through tests/numbers, volunteer testimony and/or 100% guarantee fit-or-money back policy, i would buy from.

It is the same product as the one offered by MiniPilo... Just reduced in price to $195.00...

My question is... Will MiniPilo reduce the price to match the one from MINI-Madness?

Have not tried this on a CVT yet so I am unsure of fit.
Based on how it fits the 5 speed I dought there are
any fit problems though. As for the gain I would say
it's roughly 4-7hp
This is the response I got when I emailed MINI-Madness the other day to see if they had fit it on a CVT. No real help there. I will email them to see if they will guarantee the fit or our money back.

I would be the guinee pig, but I don't even have my car yet.

i wish one of the twister resellers would just test the intake on a cvt!
or at least send one out and have someone else try it out, i'm sure
they stand to make more money than they could possibly lose....

Update:

Since we have offered such a good price already, causing Mini-Maddness to FINALLY become Competetive, I''m going to bring the price down to 190 for this group buy. I want you all to get the best pricing availablem and want to end this group buy the right way. To the people that have paid already, I will refund the proper ammount to give you the same price as well. I hope that every one will stay in the group buy as the only reason the price dropped so low was because of this group buy. I am always out to do the best thing for the customer. I will have the low price first.

Regarding the CVT, My distributor has tested it on the CVT and it does fit so have not worries about that.

Drop me a line if you need any more help.

Thanks
Dan

MiniPilo has kindly offered to let me test out the Twister on my CVT. It will be shipped out this week. I should be able to do the testing along with dandp on his 5 speed the following week. Stay tuned for a full review.

Thanks, Dan, for listening to the cries of the MINI minority. Your cooperation and willingness to provide testing of the intake shows me that you are genuinely interested in the satisfaction of your customers.

Pending Harmini's results, I'll be ordering one of those bad boys.
Now if I just had a Cooper to put it on. :???:
