JCW Suspension Install - DIY?

Those that have installed, or seen the install on the JCW suspension - what parts are are reused from the stock set-up? I'm wonding if there's a way to assemble everything off the car before jacking it up and removing the old - simply swap out the stock unit for the JCW unit in one piece.

But if there are shared pieces, can those be bought seperately to accomplish this?

yes there are shared pieces. the swap is super easy and there is no real point to pre-assembling them. It would save you about 10 minutes total if you had the units pre-assembled.

There is a spring install in this section that K-huevo and justintime did that is very good. ^ the search function will help you find it (obvious keywoards).

The only things taht get used are teh spring hats... i forgot what the actual name is... the pillow ball plates up front and w/e tehy are called in the back.

The upper strut mounts and the spring hats are reused.

See this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=115936

#1, #7 & #8 along with associated hardware. And now that I think about it, I think #11 is reused as well... (I've installed a JCW suspension, but it's been awhile).

New strut mounts are common as they wear out.

New spring hats #7, and the rubber spacer #8, however, might be less easy to get as they are not really a wear item...

Regardless, you need a spring compressor to assemble to assemble the JCW pieces... and being so, dissassembling the OE struts for those parts is not a big deal.

Thanks guys - didn't know if there was an easy answer or not. probably just as well to disassemble the stock unit.

I will be adding IE fixed plates at that time too.

Thanks!
