Pics! - Orcas Island, "Fill the Ferry" Tour

What an exceptionally fun trip! This was one that I was so glad I didn;t miss. My favorite of all time, hands down. That's saying a LOT considering how many cool things this group has done. With that said, here's just a taste...

Group 3, waiting at the Ferry... (Yup, there were 34 cars on this multi-day tour! Holy Smokes. )

Some of the MINIs on the Ferry...

Two of the PDX MINI clan brought alternate forms of transport... This is one...

Getting on the Ferry!

Riding into Orcas Island, first stopping at Lopez Island

Some of the group, relaxing by the beach, before the barbeque/ fireside party...

Makin' one of three simultaneous fires on the beach... with 56 people, we couldn't all fit around one!

Some of the group at the top of Mount Constitution, Orcas Island...

A glass of happiness waiting on the front porch of one of our cabins, at dusk...

Some of the group head into East Sound to shop...

A view out the cabin window...

How close the sea gulls get to you on the Ferry:

Mt. Baker, from the Ferry ride back to the Mainland... on the way home...

Lots more here:

Thanks Norm! Diane really pulled the cork on this one. Heck of a drive, Curvy, (not really challenging curves but fun), and a gorgeous view most of the way. It was all along the Puget Sound, on much of Washington's Highway 101 to Port Townsend, then a ferry, and a quick hop to Anacortes to the Orcas/ Lopez/ Swan Ferry. Stayed at a little cabin resort on the water.

That's a lot of Flikr photos! All excellent.

Actually, I think I flipped through them 3 times before I realized they are on a continuous loop!

Yep... Seattle's nice to visit on the weekends, though.

I have SERIOUSLY considered packing up and moving to Orcas to sculpt... though now the wife has gotten fond of Ketchikan... and there I'd get a floatplane and be g2g. Might have to trade the MINI for a Jeep, though...
