DIY Nuvi 360 Install

Garmin did a nice job with the mounting bracket for the R53, however I can not find a source for the longer screws required. The mount attaches to the tachometer with the tach screws which need to be a bit longer. I checked with Mini, BMW, and even phoned Garmin... all seem to be incompetent.

Does anyone know a source for the screws I need?

Can somebody simply describe the specifications for these screws, please? Length, pitch, fine/coarse, metric/sae, etc.

Tell me I'm wrong

I went to Fastenal and found out the screws are M5-1.0mm...seems M5-.8mm is standard. So now I'm looking for M5-1.0 x 35mm button head screw.

Guess I'll send Garmin a picture this time.

Nuvi install

last weekend I won the Mini version of the Nuvi 360 at our local car show raffle. It came with the bracket and wiring harness but NO instructions on how to hook up wiring. Anyone got any ideas or should I take her to the dealer?

Wiring options

I have a two wire hook up, accessory hot and ground, if you have the four wire hook up you can find installation instructions at motoringfile.

R53 Mounting Screws

Seems the screws are only available when you order the "MINI" bracket.

Much thanks out to Nor_Cal_Mini for getting tachometer mounting screws and sending me the longer Garmin screws required.

These screws do not come from Garmin. These are BMW/MINI supplied screws for the kit.

Just FYI

Anyone installed this themselves? Any trouble with codes or computer?
