MOTD '07 video to get you amped up for MOTD '08
MOTD '07 video to get you amped up for MOTD '08
All this talk of the Dragon has got me antsy (plus the fact I couldn't go this October
), so I decided to compose my video from MOTD '07. Yes, it's a little late, I know (ok really late, but I can explain).
I went to the Dragon with 15 hours of tape, 4 vacucams, and a custom mount for the actual camera to make things easier on me. However, I was plagued with car trouble the first two days, camera trouble (mostly on my end), and then rain, but I manage to get a good, usable, 5 hours of film. Then when I returned home I found out that my new laptop did not recognize the camera, and neither did the old computer!
After trying it on several more computers, it was determined to be borked, so I had to send it back to Canon for repair (worthless customer service!). It came back in working order, but I had no time to make a video until this month.
edit:
You tue is up! I had to re-encode it because it was 3 MEGS OVER THE LIMIT so it took a little longer.
Just a note, I personally dislike youtube becuase of the video quality and the fact you can't save them to your hard drive (at least I don't know how) for enjoyment when the internet and dishnetwork is out. If someone wants to provide hosting so that everyone can have access to a DVD quality copy, please let me know. File size is 103 megs.
Hope you enjoy!

Side note: This is why I hate the "tap" feature on touchpads, and I always disable it... using the hard buttons instead.
Eh, it's been beaten into my head from other forums to only use the report feature when in dire need, not for silly stuff like I did. I could have sworn I turned off the touchpad becuase I got the wireless mouse on, but I guess I didn't.
I've been given reports that the video cannot be downloaded. If you can't let me know and I'll try to fix it. If you're having trouble playing it let me know and I may have to republish it with a different codec. I used the standard windows media codec

This feature should be used to report posts/threads that break Site Guidelines (e.g. spam, improper advertising, rude or disrespectful, blatantly illegal behavior) OR simply posts/threads that need a quick routine adjustment (e.g. thread in incorrect forum, thread title correction request, post/thread merge request, etc.)
I had planned for a 30 minute video this time around with the intro you saw, that song, another one, and a closing video with additional footage from the event, but obviously I didn't get enough film needed for that.
I've got another song I want to make a video for, but I think I'm going to save it for MOTD '08.
Anyone on a MAC been able to view this? I try to log in, but it just clears the boxes out (maybe I'm using the wrong User/PW?)
Would love to see the video...REALLY hoping to make it to MOTD '08...assuming I can find some place to stay!
Thanks!

Not sure if it's your kind of song though but it's killer. The tempo is perfect for real time & the words soooo fit
BUT your song selection after Pinion rocked. Heard that once before, who is that? Almost used Manson? We have very similar taste in music.
Loved the video and hope you can make more.
Teresa, PM me the song you're thinking of...I can't make videos so don't worry about me using it.
As soon as I pulled up to the parade line up I just thought "Pinion" and I knew right away what I was going to do, so i set it to the driverside wheel and tried to keep the speed constant the whole way down. Pinion was perfect for it. Wish would have been a great song to use. I would be lying to say it didn't cross my mind. I did want to keep it NAM safe so that I could share with the community, though. The song I used was Earshot - Wait. The CD it's on is titled "two" and is overall a great album, and since we seem to share the same tastes would be a good listen for you.
I've got more videos that I've made in my folder on the pitt site. One video for MOTD '06 along with a midnight run video, one from a trip some of us took to the dragon last october (not as complete as I would like, but the old computer couldn't run the software well enough for me to do so), then one more where I chased a sport bike down the dragon. I may upload the lot to youtube tomorrow and have a link to all of them.
