Have you tried the Motorsports section of John Cooper Works? I believe that cone filter is a lot like the Pipercross cone (not the Viper).

I went over to the JCW site and it has changed a lot. I couldn't find it. I remember reading about it on MINI2. You could try searching there.

 

Since the JCW brand was bought by BMW and the old garage closed, I don't think the motorsports physical or web site exists anymore.

 

The motorsports filter is really similar to the K&N style intake. It looks like a silicone tube with and ITG style filter on it though. I don't think you can still get that one anymore because they are moving to the 07 race cars soon.

 

Get a Way/DDM intake, they are awesome
