16" Black wheels with silver rim

I just bought an MC and I'm looking for a set of 16" black wheels with a silver rim. I've seen a number of nice 17"+ size wheels but very little 16".

Any suggestions?

My two cents worth. I've posted a few shots of my 16's but here's one for you. I run a set of 16 inch Rota slipstreams mounted on Nitto Neo Gens for the weekend twisty's and long trips.

Check Tire Rack for ASA AR1's. They're pretty popular, which is both good and bad.

Duffer --

Kinda depends on what your specific objectives are. You can spend a lot of money to get ultra-lightweight wheels that will maximize your performance (or your bragging rights, if that's also important to you). Alternatively, you can also trade off some of the weight savings and brand name recognition to save some $$ while still potentially achieving the appearance you seek.

My 16x7 MB Motorsports Drifters that I purchased through Discount Tire Direct (see gallery) are not the lightest wheels by any stretch (18 lbs) but exactly matched the look I wanted and also fit my budget. For daily driving and occasional spirited twisties, they serve my need.

You're correct in observing that there are many more black+silver rim options available in the 17" variety. I went with 16" because of the amount of daily driving I do and the quality (or lack thereof) of many of the roads in my area -- did not want the harsher ride of the 17's.

The AR1's are nice but the only size shown is a 205/45-17.

Rota brand wheels have a bunch of black with polished lip options in 16". Look for the ones that say "Royal" in their color description, as those are the ones with the polished lip. Even if a particular style isn't pictured, they are often available in black with polished lip by clicking on one of the drop down boxes in the color section.

I was wondering if there was a name associated with the silver rim, thanks.

What offset, bolt pattern, and hub bore would I be looking for in a 07 MC?

I'm not sure about the 07's but, my Rota's are a 40mm off set. The Rota's come in various hub sizes. My Slipstreams weight 13.5 lbs and I paid $400.00 for a set of four. Rota has a VERY cool wheel out in 15,16 and 17 inch rims called RB's. I really like the style of those.
When I bought my Slipstreams, they weren't my first choice in style but I wanted a very light wheel that were inexpensive and looked good as well. There are lot's of dealers for the Rota's. I went witha local shop. Lot's of wheels out there ! The Rota's met my requirements .

For a 16x7 wheel, you'll likely get 40mm offset, 100x4 bolt pattern, and 56.1 hub bore (although a larger hub bore will work as well, and you can use hubrings to make up the difference).

Also if I'm not mistaken, the R56 takes 14 mm lug bolts (vice 12 mm for pre- July '06 1st Gen MINIs). Does this pose a wheel compatibility issue?

While all OEM wheels have holes large enough for either size wheel bolt, some aftermarket wheels cannot accommodate the larger size.
