Noob Questions
Hi All,
I picked up my 07 Astro Black MC last week and I've been loving it since! I chose it off the lot, so I didn't pick all the options going into it (ok, I've just started to realized the amount of personalization that most people put into these since reading this board). I have a few noob questions that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.
1. I have the multi-function steering wheel, and it has buttons for bluetooth, does this mean I have bluetooth? I can't find in the manual what I need to do to pair a phone.
2. I have the Boost radio - is the onboard computer supposed to be accessible? The manual says press Menu then the BC button, but all I have is a Config option. I'm looking to get the Distance to Empty display up.
Thanks!

As far as the onboard computer, have you pressed the little button at the end of the left stalk? That walks you through several things (mpg, mph, etc.) and allows setting changes. (a very confusing, non-intuitive interface, I might add!)
Hope this helps at least a little.
It's a Canadian model, and I don't see Convience Package on the Canadian configurator.
It does show Bluetooth Prep, which I don't have, so I'm guessing it doesn't have Bluetooth (just seems odd they leave the buttons on the steering wheel).
I also don't have the Premium package, which looks like it adds the onboard computer. I guess I've answered my own questions.
Thanks!

Ha! those very same buttons were in the 1st gen MINI's (my 2005+) for nearly a year before MINI USA ever offered a Bluetooth prep kit that would work with them. The factory installed Bluetooth kit was available all of the world, just not to North America. Oy!
Anyway, just because you have the phone buttons on your MFSW doesn't mean you have Bluetooth in your car. You have to have the Bluetooth Prep package/option (which is also part of the Convenience Package here in the USA) in order to have Bluetooth functionality in the car.
If you don't have the Bluetooth Prep package/option in your NEW MINI and you really want Bluetooth, then check out MikeyTheMINI's web site (at http://www.newministuff.com) as he offers great aftermarket Bluetooth kits (some even work with the buttons on the MFSW).

It saves them the expense and bother of making multiple steering wheels, and is a constant reminder that you didn't get the Bluetooth so you'll feel more inclined to get it next time.
