It's never to early to start drinking, a wise man once said. So with that in mind it's time for me to being my soliciting for Beerlympians.

As just about all of you know, I put on the Brew Swap event at the Dragon each year. This year is no exception.

The Beerlympics this past year were a lot of fun and are being brought back again. The team that won last year is returning...sadly it is retaining the ultra-lame moniker of Think Pink *shiver*.

Anyway, we had 4 teams last year and this year I thought we'd have 6 since it seemed more popular. Well so far only 2 teams are officially in. That would be Think Pink, trying to continue their reign, & my un-named team, who will be trying not to embarass Think Pink too badly with our superior drinking skills.

We need at least two more teams to really make this a proper event. I'm trying to have teams committed by the end of the year due to a fundraising tie in (believe me, it'll be worth while for all who participate).

I am putting together a team from Michigan and would like to compete. How many drinkers....er...people do I need on my team?

 

You need a total of 5 players. Once you have commitments from all the players send me an email with:

Each Player's Username (if they have one)
Each Player's Name
Each Player's City/State of Residence
Each Player's Email
Each Player's Favorite Beer

Sounds like we have 2 more teams, time will tell. That's awesome though. We'll hit our 6 teams shortly.

 

DCMM is potentially interested in fielding a team. I know a few of us have discussed it, anyway.

No specific rules or requirements as to the make up of the team. It can be all guys, all girls or a mix. The sooner you pull it together the better. Once I get emails from team leaders with team info and the 6 spots are full that's all she wrote.

4 of last year's events carry over. They are Pint Chug, Boat Races, Quarters and Beer Pong. The rules are on the website (www.dragonbrewswap.com). The 5th game this year will be Evil Kinevil. I'll post the rules on that by year's end.

 

I just found out Michael Jackson as died

 

He died almost a month ago I think. Hadn't heard of him prior to the death.

 

He's a great author in the Home Brew community. I've got a couple of his books on the shelf at home.

 

Sorry, it's been awhile since I've been on NAM, but I was talking with Chad from 'Think Pink' (worst team name ever) about my team taking 2nd place last year. Our team is DEFINITELY making a come back in 2008 and taking over 1st place this year. I'll get in contact with all of my previous team members and email you the info Matt.
