Here's the deal: Changing fluid and bleeding your brakes is a hassle because you (normally) have to have another person sitting in the driver's seat and squashing the pedal for you. You attach the cap to the brake master cylinder, fill the reservoir with your favorite brake fluid, pump up the pressure, and then you can just sit there at the corner of your car, bleeding the brakes single-handedly and feeling smug.
