115bhp and 110tq??????

haha, j/k but problly not a whole lot more than stock. im sure theres a noticable amount of throttle response but theres little to be gained with only a replacment filter and a catback but your car looks and sounds good. you also have a few parts on yours that i will be tossing at mine before next spring. so i say, nice work!

You've probably got another 5-7 hp. Sounds very cool though.

Thanks guys! I love the way the Cooper sounds when mods are done to it. Sounds more like a powerful car than it is. Do any of you guys know anything about ECU mods and headers for the Cooper?

There is a thread elsewhere on this forum about GIAC for the MC. Check back through last spring. Speaking from experience, with your Magnaflow an ECU remap will get you over 120 HP at the wheels.

post some pics of your car in your gallery on on here. its looks pretty sweet but its kinda hard to see details when its flying by.

it does sound nice ive been looking for an exhaust for mine but i just didnt want to spend the money and not know what it would sound like.

Looks great. Nice mod choices.

I would have to recommend the K&N typhoon for sound, tho. The sound is crazy. You'd love it. Subtle then, WOT, Bwaaa. . . . You may like it better over the stock box with a panel filter. But, I do hear it can get drowned out by a louder exhaust. (And be sure to clean and re-oil every 8-12 months, and don't overoil, of course.)

As far as heads go, from what I've researched, do a port & polish on a stock cooper S head (stronger valves, everything else is the same) and keep the stock valve size, and upgrade the cam (schrick or that new one coming out. . name?). Larger valves aren't as advantageous an a Cooper. Some would say they are, but if the point was "***** out power" we wouldn't have coopers. Plus, gas mi. would be in the crapper. After that, maybe an extrude honed intake manifold and exhaust header matched up the the ports, ECU flash to match the mods and you'd be good to go. Haven't heard wnything bad about any ECU tune: GIAC, MTH, Unichip, etc. everyone's happy.

Anyway, great work.

you can't hear the K&N when you have the magnaflow. Id go with a drop in filter, keep the stock box

Well right now I have a generic intake filter. I noticed that the car sounds a lot better and it feels slightly quicker mostly in the higher rpms. I go still have my stock air box with a True Flow panel filter in it. With the panel filter the car seems a little smoother with a less peaker powerband around 4,000 rpms. With the generic intake filter the car is a little rougher and lounder with a peaker powerband around 4,000 rpms. Why is this?

well, until you get moving your sucking hot air... so probly about the time you get up to speed and start moving the air under the bonnet (in 1st gear) your going to start hitting our power band at 4k or so. and then once you shift to second the ride is just about over. but im sure at speed your getting more air than you would with the stock box.
