Will a 225/45-17 or a 225/40-17 fit on a 17-in S lite?

 

yah, they will fit but the 225/45 on a 7" width will make it look like
a under-inflated tire.

try 215/45/17 or 215/40/17 or 205/45/17 (stock).

 

225/45-17 fits rims 7-8.5" wide, perfect fit for 7.5" rim, tire diam 25"

225/40-17 shows no tires at tirerack.com or at edgeracing.com

S-lyte is 17x7" rim so 225/45-17 will fit the rim OK. The problem is the taller than stock 25" tire diameter and clearance for a tall tire in the wheel well.

It is possible to get a little rubbing of the tire on the rear inner wheel plastic trim. Especially when passing over dips in the road at higher speed or if carrying passengers in the rear seat.

Best size for the S-lyte would be-
205/45-17 (stock size)
215/45-17 (slightly taller than stock but OK)
215/40-17 (slightly smaller than stock- a little harsher ride but better handling and cornering, often a higher price).
