Clutch pedal...
Clutch pedal...
okay i am sort of new here, i have been a VW driver since i was sixteen and then just got a WRX last year. in short just wasnt me and decided i am getting what i have wanted since, well since the concept was first shown... a Mini.
so here is were my question begins, i am looking at a 2004 mini and i am told the clutch was just replaced by a certified Mini Mechanic. although when i test drove it the the clutch pedal felt real slow, sort of like it needed greased or something, and then when you popped the hood you could hear a noise when the clutch pedal was pressed down (the sound was a low sound, if that helps). just wondering if anyone could help out with any ideas or suggestions.
Thank you in advance,

This is a fantastic thread with instructions on how to replace a clutch. Reading towards the end you will find a lot of extra stuff done besides the major clutch components.
I'd say the noise is the throwout bearing against the pressure plate fingers. The clutch and the brakes share the same hydraulic resevoir. The clutch has a master and slave cylinder and might need re-bleeding. Improper lubrication of replacement parts might also contribute to slowness.
I'd want to see a list of the parts that were replaced!!!!!
