MCSCa 21K--good buy?

I sold my MCC in 5/07 and bought a Prius (I know), but was browsing today and saw an 06 MCSCa with 17k miles. Got the dealer down to 20,990. Carfax checks out and the body is in real nice shape. A few upgrades: cloth/leather seats, cd changer, OBC. Is this a good or great price? It is Hot Orange, which I like, but is that a harder color to resale?
thanks.

FWIW, I was just checking my Mini's resale value at Kelly Blue Book - a 2006 MCSCa, astro black, black leather interior, fully loaded (nav, etc), 5500miles, excellent condition; their private sale price is $29k. So I guess for around 8k more you could get all the options and 1/3 the miles.

I'd say that is a very good deal, but not necessarily a great deal. No sport or premium pkgs?

I don't think it has sport or premium. The dealer called last night and lowered to 20200.

I'd say jump on it if you're happy with what it has. Sounds like it might be "stripped" compared to some others out there but it's starting to sound like a great deal. Just make sure they don't try to make it up on their "dealer fees".

Thanks for the input. I will likely get it tomorrow. Thanks to the resale on the prius, I'm only losing 800$ after buying it 4 months ago.

Any thoughts on difficult resale of Hot Orange? Not that I plan to, but have read that HO was the least sold color.

HO stories vary - some dealers couldn't keep them on the lot. Others had them for a long time. I know many people who specifically sought out HO - basically you either love it, or you don't... soooooo..... in the future, with no new HO cars to choose from, IF you can find someone who is rabid about getting an HO cabrio, it will IMPROVE your resale value. But you might have to wait a little while, and market specifically for that, to get that result. Otherwise it may not be as easy to sell as a blue or red or black or white or ... probably like some of the early coupe colors (Solid Gold...)

Assuming you picked this up today

Is your $800 lost after your federal rebates on hybrids, or do you lose out on them since you don't have the vehicle now?

I called to arrange pickup, and it was sold the night I looked at it . Such a bummer! I don't want to spend alot out of pocket to get another mini, but a kinda got the bug again after driving the HO one. l know looking for an auto MCS (hard or soft top) may be an advantage because they are taboo to most . My last fillup was 54.1 mpg on the prius, but its a prius not a mini.
