Does anyone make a 4 piston fixed caliper kit for the rear rotors?
Bigger rotors would be a plus but I can live with stock rotors.

Why?

With more common 4 piston calipers, one has a larger choice of brake pad compounds. It looks like there isn't a large selection of brake pads for the stock calipers.

As far as I know, there is no rear 4 piston caliper for the MINI.

Also, I have not heard of a better rear pad than the Ferodo DS2500 compound.

Is there any downside to using the DS2500 on the street, compared to the stock pads (other than wallet-lightening of course )

I used the Ferodo DS3000 pads on my race car and while they worked great, they also lasted a total of 2 race and 1 open track days.

How long do the DS2500s last when driven on the street?

I wish Performance Friction made any of their racing compounds available for us.

I used to get about 7-9 race weekends out of a set of PF90s with excellent braking and great fade resistance (Laguna Seca tested).

They are a tiny bit noisy, but some antisqueak goo should silence them. I don't use the stuff because I change between street and track pads often enough that cleaning the goo off the pads would be a pain.
