Focal Speakers

As a favor to the Ebay seller that I am in a dispute with, I am posing this to see if there is any interest for a set of Focal 165V3 speakers WITHOUT CROSSOVERS. They are new, although the 4" speakers suffered a little damage to the mounting tabs in shipping. I checked the serial numbers on the speakers and found the same numbers on the 4's, tweeters, and box, but a different number on the 6's.
I have no idea what this would be worth. Ideal for someone looking to upgrade the HIFI without a desire to add an amp.

kook,

IMHO, I think you need to take that ebay seller to the woodshed for a "come to Jesus" meeting. When people like this get away with not being truthful in their dealings, it affects all of us.

Misrepresentation, is misrepresentation, which in my neighborhood boils down to lying, cheating and fraudulant activity. This needs to be dealt with via eBay and Paypal. These types continue to bilk people until they finally get caught.

You've been cheated and now you want to do them a favor? You're far nicer that I would be in your shoes. Good luck!!!!

For real, go after them for the money, after you get it make sure to notify Focal that they are an internet seller. If you want to send me the info I'm fine with it. At least if you sell protected product, dont sell it broken!!!

Seriously, go after a full refund and complain to e-bay. I'd highly bet the speakers are all used - and used hard (like mine . It's obviously a mixed and matched and missing set.

a96:
Is there such a thing as an authorized internet Focal dealer?

the seller has finally agreed to a refund. I am now waiting for paypal to apply it before i do anything. In the end, the problem was made right....so, do i really report him? he has perfect feedback over 150.

I read the paypal rules of refund and they seem to think that i would have to ship the item back to him on my $. i dont think so.....

You can't leave anything but negative feedback, can you? Tell the truth. He has to pay for shipping if he wants them back. If he's OK with a refund to you and letting you keep them that's up to him. Just get Paypal to credit you and see where he wants to go after that.

don't leave the feedback yet - until you get refunded. Then leave negative feedback and the truth. He tried to burn you then refunded you (or not).

There is no way he didn't know the condition of them before he sent them.

He didn't post actual pics of the damaged speakers with non matching crossovers, your item was NOT as described which is totally shady. negative feedback indeed.

And no, there are NO authorized internet retailers for focal. No internet sales period, unless its for in store pick up.

I wouldn't say that. There are a few unauthorized ones that send good equipment. Just sad the OP got burned.

Well, Focal shuns internet sales, but there are actually certified, brick and mortar businesses that sell their left over supplies on the internet. If I were a custom shop, I'd do the same. They can offer a full warrantee as if you came into their shop. You just have to find them.

My Focals came with all of the necessary paperwork and intact serial numbers on both the box and the speakers themselves. I've since received a full warrantee from Focal and saved a boatload of money buying on line. You've got to check them out before you purchase.

Sometimes the local install shops will match or at least come close to the online price if you ask. There is a lot of markup in these products and there is room for negotiation.
