Check out the Peerage of the Pepper White thread...there are lots of pictures there with both options. In fact, the last page of the thread has one with black wheels pictured...

Those are starting to become pretty tempting as well. Just annoys me that so many MINI's have them, regardless they're definitely a good look.

Msteadman,

You know I thought the same thing. I live in SoCal and Mini's are everywhere, but even with all the talk on the board, I have yet to see another (r56 or r53) with this wheel. So I'd say popular online but chances are you won't run across many.

PS. 38lbs on my scale, vs 42lbs for the stock 16", can't beat the weight for the price.

Very true, that's actually what's maintaining them on my list! I see a ton of them here on NAM but not one yet on the road. Then again I do live in central PA... But between the weight and looks, if I do decide to go for an all black wheel (versus black with a chrome/machined lip, which is what I'm more leaning towards right now) it'll definitely be those. And your having them on a PW/B only makes the decision harder!!! If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay total for the wheels/tires and from where?

Got them from TireRack. My local guy told me that the OZ line for passenger car wheels went bankrupt and TireRack bought them out. So basically not many can beat them on price unless they take a really skinny margin.

Experience wasn't so good, one tire was inflated to 85PSI (made the car make a left hand turn on acceleration) and they were all out of balance so I had my local garage rebalance. The good thing is they didn't take too much weight, maybe 1oz at the most. They came with 3-4oz each so whoever balanced them originally was on crack.

I have to stick with silver...I try to get a feel for black and it is just not there for me. I don't know what the hype is...but that is me...it is not a personal attack.

I like Hamann like the one below or a clone sense I don't want to pay that much for wheels.

And the pic from a guy in England...who is on mini2

R105 wheels (I believe) love them. Was originally set on those but they're just wayyy too expensive... And heavy! Also MINI only offers them with summer tires which wouldn't work for me. But they certainly do look great.

Awesome!!! And the stance he has on that thing, perfect. In the first picture the front splitter actually looks to be touching the grass.

Woohoo, looks like I'll be adding to this thread soon enough!!! Just got the official go ahead, so I'll be ordering black wheels with a chrome lip for my PW/B MINI soon as I get back to the US next month. Vacation could never be over soon enough...

Got it narrowed down to these two, with the first option currently being my first choice.

I like those Team Dynamics. Are the letters on the lip removable?

Yea, they're pretty securely in the top spot right now! Temptation to the Konig's is that they're 200 bucks cheaper for the set, slightly lighter, have a larger lip and that 'mesh' design is really starting to grow on me. However I'm digging the gloss black of the TD's and think they'd go better with my over all setup... We'll see - both wheels are so hot, I don't really think I can go wrong.

The writing on the TD Pro Race 1.2's are forged into the wheel. The Pro Race 1 has removable stickers. The 1.2's are also available in matte black in which case although the writing is there, it doesn't stand out. I personally love the look of the machined lip though.
