Suggestions for Placement of Amps

I currently have a 07 Mini Cooper S with a stock radio configuration and I will be upgrading my audio system with JL Audio Cleansweep and two amps. Does anyone have any suggestions for the placement of the amps? I will also be replacing all stock speakers and putting in a sub-woofer. Any pictures of intstalled systems would also be great.
Thanks....

Cinci,

I just finished an install with pretty much exactly what you are talking about. I started a thread here talking about it. 2 JL Audio amps one under each seat, sub in the toolkit area, Focal K2P's in the front doors. THe clean sweep was installed in the passenger side behind the glove compartment.

Are you planning to do the install yourself, or are you having it installed by someone else? THere's a fair amount of space under the seats, especially if you take out that styrofoam mass under the seats for your crossovers.

PS: I didn't bother to remove the 6/9's in the rear and are still powered off of the stock HU. I only have front stage anyway and have my 4 channel amp bridged to 2 for each front channel.

Post the other equipment you plan on installing. I'd love to hear what you have in mind.

Equipment

I currently have Boston SL 60 Component speakers for upfront and Boston SL95 6x9 for the back. I also have one MTX amp to run the speakers and a Mono MTX amp to run the sub-woofer. I am still deciding on a 10 or 12 inch sub-woofer and the type of brand. I will have everything professionally install. Thanks for your help….

Cinci,

A lot depends on the type of music you listen too. I'm more of a Classic rock type and just don't need the deep booming bass. I like it at times on certain songs, but I just want the bass to be present, not dominate. Rap and hiphop demands deep booming, feel it in your chest bass. This might be better served with a 12". As for my style, the JL Audio 10W3v2 is more than adequate.

We also have an advantage of the hatch back style of our cars. There is a certain amount of reflection, if you will, from the glass. I currently am running my sub between -4 and -1 as it has not been setup porperly. I wanted to listen to it for a while before messing with it.
