I have pics of my wrecked '03 (still on the road, thankfully) but since this is the R56 forum I'll refrain. The pics are horrible...really horrible!!! It's be far worse w/ an R56 since they're practically brand new!

I thought the same thing, but if you look at what the list of parts are, you will see a deal of mechanical parts as well, exhuast and A/C. Mine was prety bad body wise, got both bumpers replaced, hood, headlamps and the total only came to about 6-7K.

I'm guessing he was going pretty fast to get that kind of damage, maybe during a turn?

do you know what the difference in all those labor charges are for? mech/paint/body?

Will post pics tomorrow...but I got nailed earlier this evening by a speeding driver who decided he owned both mine and his lane. Made VERY solid contact on my drivers side quarterpanel...enough where he and I both spun sideways for a very brief and very scary second. Thank God for the suspension in the MINI.

His rear quarterpanel/bumper is definitely crushed in. I've got ready bad scrapes, some broken plastic moldings, and a slight crease in the bonnet. My wheel/tire is toast as wheel.

Here's to idiot drivers

Here are mine.. I've been in the body shop since 01/06/08 - cut off by an errant Ferrari driver out by MINI of Sterling (Va). Total so far is $9,300. Fortunately airbags did not deploy.

I murdered a seagull on the way into work today. I believe he was suicidal. After washing off the feathers and brain matter I have discovered two cracks in my bumper. My insurance will cover the damage, but does anyone have any opinions on whether I should go to MINI for the repairs, or will a body shop suffice... And does anyone know a good body shop in Nassau or Queens?

I don't know how far you are from your dealership, but if your close to one and your insurance is covering the damage, you should probably just take it to the dealership.
