What to expect at 50,000 maintenance

I have a 2002 mini cooper I bought it used from a car dealer (not a mini one) here, I has about 52,000 miles on it and it says that I have roughly 1800 miles before an inspection. What can I expect. I got the car while it still was under athe manufacturer's warranty and then I extended the warranty 4 years I think or 80,000 miles. Should I take the car to the Mini dealer in Nashville, or just chuck it up I got ripped off 2000 bucks? How much would the "service" be? What wil they do? There is na guy in Bham that is certified MINI mechanic and BMW Mechanic her has a MINI also and a BMW. I have met him and he is really nice and has RAVE reviews. What should I do? Was I even elgible to get a MINI waranty? Should I try and get money back?

Who is your warranty through? Mini? I did a 3rd party warranty on a car once and will never do it again. Every repair has to be "approved" by the warranty company and they dictate what parts go on the car (read used if at all possible). Repair jobs did not get done right and it was a complete waiste of money. Oh, and I got the priveledge of paying a $100 deductible for EVERY TIME the car went back, even to fix the original problem that was fixed with used parts. The 3rd time they finally repaired correctly.

Anyways, hope your experiences with the 3rd party warranty will be better than mine.
