Is it just me??

Hello fellow NAMers!
So I have my beloved mini for almost 3 month and it's the most greatest expirience ever; but i've been noticing something, which keeps troubling me.
Everytime I'm driving my mini, or park my mini there always a HUMMER next to me. It does not fail. Everytime i'm driving the California Freeways there a Hummer next to me, the hummer will try to pass me or will drive neck to neck with my beloved mini. Also where ever I park, I will always find a Hummer parked next to me. Which makes it confusing to me when i'm trying to find my mini. Mind you, this is not the same hummer it's always a different hummer. I just find it funny and needed to share with you all.

So is it just me? or I'm just wierd? Have you guys have the same expirience?
C'est la vie.
P.S. Keep on motoring!
Goyo

I wish I could always have a hummer when I'm in my MINI.

Hummers are big. Their owners are hoping that you are willing to share some of that space that you're not using.

Especially in parking situations. I'll park away from everyone and on an end space. I suck the curb on that space and it never fails that some big SUV will park in the next space right on the line on my side.

Yesterday at Rite Aid drug store. Pulled in just as described above. I was in the store maybe 5 minutes. Came back out to find that the guy in line in front of me to cash out had parked on the line next to me. I still had plenty of room, but the darn parking lot was empty. We were the only two parked. What's up with that. I gave him the look. You know, the 'What a MORON look'. Good thing I was in a good mood from just finishing up the break in miles on the Mini.

It's called compensating. By driving next you your Mini, it REALLY over compensating!

Yes, us SUV drivers love to hunt down those itsy bitsy MINI cars just to part next to them and hog all them space ... and to get right up next to them on the highway and make it know that we be BIGGER.

There is one thing Goyo, I can say you are probably safer in your MINI than an HUMMER. (unless it's an H1) At least for me I would feel safer in a Mini.

It's how the world stays in balance. Light little car next to big heavy vehicle = balance, I guess.

That, or envy...

I use light pole bases, end spots, fencing or guardrail, when available to reduce the chances for such happenings. Also remember to stop at the front of the parking spot, not all the way in. Otherwise, someone will come around that large SUV believing the space is empty.

Goyo, I think you're being stalked by some salesperson from the neighborhood hummer dealership. They have a crush on you.

Plus... if you do any offroading you are less likely to damage your vehicle. A guy I know that does body work just had an H3 come in for a crankshaft replacement. Seems he was offroading and the ALUMINUM shaft snapped like a twig. Guess they're not so tough after all!
