First thing, check the car over to make sure there are no dings or scratches inside and out. Then...click here for a good list of things to check.

First thing I'm going to do is figure out how to use the bloody radio. I took one for a test drive a while back and was too busy driving to figure out how to make the radio work

1. Look over the car for dings, scratches, under the hood, interior, etc
2. Make sure to have your MA go over the car with you (radio function, gadget functions, etc)
3. Pay them
4. Driver him/her home!

Not sure what you're asking....

Before paying my money, I followed the checklist here on NAM which was very useful (I found something I would have otherwise overlooked).

Other than that, my way of celebrating the delivery of my baby was to take a 120 mile scenic drive on some twisty mountain roads. Perfect sort of driving for break-in and gave us time to bond. It also gave me some great locations for "baby pictures"

I'm guessing he's asking about Mods. There are a number of things you can do, here's a short list:
1. Replace the long antenna with a short one
2. Get Clear Bra installed
3. Get windows tinted
4. Get new wheels
5. Replace exhaust system

etc...

Aside from the items mentioned, one of the first things I did was to enable the three-flash turn signal!!! Seems most MINIs come set to one...I find three is extremely useful.

Walk around the car, and make sure they took off those spacers/stoppers off the shocks during transport. I have heard horrible stories about people driving off with these things still on the shocks...

IMO, The first thing you dowhe you get the car is to wash the car with dawn, Then apply (In my case) one coat of Klasse AIO and one or more coats of Klasse sealer followed by a coat of Carnuba wax. More info on various waxes can be found in the Detail Forum. Inform the dealer not to prep/wash the car as they will leave swirl marks.

Get in it, put on the seatbelt, and drive it like it's stolen!!!

After a few days, go get it tinted. ;-)

The day I pick up my MCS, I am planning for a guest appearance on the 11 o'clock news....

"New mini owner, leads police on high speed chase spanning multiple states, driver claims it was the car's fault"

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Pick up the car, pay the man, then take it up highway 1 from San Francisco to Seattle. Excellent way to get to know your new baby.

Too Many Minis

Since you did not heed our advice, you are officially part of the problem. You need to individualize your car. I recommend you pull out some dental floss and using both hands drag the floss behind the "Cooper" emblem located on the right side of the hatch, making sure that you do not accidentally remove the S. Use wax to clean it. That way, no one will know what you're driving.

Then you need to sit in the car for at least 2 hours staring at and becoming acquainted with the dashboard controls and the idiosynchratic nature of the design. Remember that the car is a reflection of the owner. If you don't understand the radio controls, then you are stupid. Accept that fact. The Germans did it right. Finally, enjoy your MINI and have at least one English group's CD, (Beatles, Led Zepillin, etc.) in the car. I don''t think I need explain that one.
ENJOY!!!!

The first thing I did was get new wheels and tires...non-runflats! Then it was on to blacking out the chrome and adding and racing harness

I demanded floor mats too. Use the survery as leverage for free stuff, seriously. It works.

The first thing I did was put on stripes and clear bra. It was all downhill after that
