All aboard the TORONTO departing Southampton 8/14
My Mini just popped up on the WW site this morning. Looks like he will be traveling to NYC with 22 friends. If you're on the Toronto, sound off...
Hey MWH,
I too found out today that my Mini will be sailing to New York on the Toronto. Glad to be aboard. I am looking forward to a quick, trouble free crossing.
How did you find out there are 22 of us on the Toronto?

I took the booking number from the status page for my car and looked up the whole shipment. It shows all the VINs that are traveling together. It looks like a few more Minis are rolling up to the dock - 25 total now.

MWH,
I checked out the booking number as well. It looks like one of the Minis has been waiting for transport since 08/07/2007. I feel fortunate to have arrived at the port today and to be shipping out tomorrow.
Thanks for the information on the Toronto. From the article it looks like the ship was put into service in 2005. Our Minis are making the crossing on a state of the art transport. This is really getting exciting!

Thanks Tharkun for the information on the Toronto. From your signature it looks like you will be receiving your Mini any day now. Please post some pictures when you get a chance.
Thanks again.

Once a car is released from the VDC I'm now learing that the carrier is 5 to 8 days to have it to the dealer. So mine is sitting at the VDC 365 miles away waiting for a stupid truck. :impatient
I guess I don't know where to look for that booking number. Could you post all the VINs? I'm wondering if WMWMF73537TT83325 is on there.

The best way to check your vehicles' shipping status is to input your VIN number on the shipper's web site. The link is below. It will show "no Information Available" if you have not been assigned to a ship. This happened to me the first few days I checked. At some point it will show you which vessel and voyage your car will be taking to its new home.

I hope this helps.
Toronto's Call Sign is MKKE3
Here is some additional information on the Toronto.
Toronto
built: 2005
call sign: MKKE3
IMO NR: 9302205

location: Brigg (B)

We should be able to track her crossing using her call sign of MKKE3 on this website.

Hopefully I'm wrong and you can.
Since the sailwx sight shows no history fron using either the ships name or call sign, looks like it is another one the ships that does not use the AIS weather system. If she does not use it you will not be able to track here trek across the pond. You will be able to see here again once close to land using the aisfree sight.
Hopefully I'm wrong and you can.

Thanks for the information. I was afraid that may be the case as I started to do more research on this vessel. Well at least the crossing is only 10 days to from England to NY. Not too much time to wait.
Thanks again.
Call Sign
Tharkun,
Does the call sign of the ship remain constant or does it change from voyage to voyage? Some posts I read seem to suggest that part of the voyage number is the call sign. Since my research on the Toronto is turning up multiple call signs, I am wondering if this is not the case and I have been using the wrong call sign.

WW ships do use differant voyage numbers for the same ship, that aids in knowing which direction the ship is heading, like from UK to the US, or the US to UK.
Toronto makes port in NY
The Toronto made port in NY this morning. If you check WW's website using you VIN number you can see when your car was discharged from the ship.
MY DS/B MCSa was off loaded at 8:00 AM and is now about 100 miles from its final destination.
Can't get here soon enough!

This morning the OL tracker started showing my Mini as being at the VDC with a target delivery date of 8/31, which is what my MA originally quoted back in July. Very exciting. I'm hoping my dealer can have it ready to roll before they close for the long weekend on Saturday night.
Then the mods begin... stripes, window tint, GPS mount, stubby antenna, upgraded speakers and amp, rear fogs if they can be retrofitted... the list goes on.
