These seats are awesome!!!

Just came back from a road trip from philly to Shelbyville KY. These new seats are the most comfortable I have ever been in.
After nearly 11 hours I got out with no aches pains or complaints ( and I have a dicky back and knees)
Congratulations MINI

That's one of the things I really like about the R56. My other MINIs were all space cloth sport seats and the bottom section was not long enough to come close to my knees. The new seats are MUCH more comfortable. Now, if they would just put the seat belt height-adjuster back . . .

Yep, I have the cloth sport seats in my R56. I like them alot. Going on a trip next weekend, about 7 hours of driving total, so I will get a good idea of the gas mileage and also long distance cruising comfort.

I had my first nap in the sport seats with the back down the other day. With the sunroof open, I was like a happy little kitten curled up in the window sill in a sunbeam!
Comfy indeed!

I was considering orderng the punch carbon leather seats only because I wanted the lumbar option that doesn't come with the standard seats. It just seems like a lot of money ($1500) for lumbar support. I too see little differance between the looks of the stock and leather seats.

Is this right? I thought everything but the stock non-S seats were basically the same? I could be uninformed.

I have the standard punch carbon leather seats, with adjustable lumbar support. Good looking, soft to the touch. Very cool and comfortable. Non skid.

The cloth seats in the MCS do not have lumbar support.

I'm quite satisfied with the leatherette sport seats on the MCS. I just couldn't see spending $1900 on the lounge leather. I might have thought twice if the euro design seats were shipped to the US (if you didn't notice, the euro seats have the folds on the seating surface, but the US models have the folds on the forward edge. Something about seatbelt sensors in the seats and US regs).

Even in the recent hot days the leatherette doesn't get that sticky feeling it used to have.

it's my understanding the only way to get lumbar support is with leather seats
maybe with the cloth/leather combo

All seats in the MCS are "Sport Seats" so the answer is, no.

We have standard MC leatherette seats and are amazed at the comfort. We have taken several seven hour trips with no complaints. My wife, who has back problems, much prefers long trip in the MC versus our other vehicles (BMW X3 and Ford Fusion), despite their better ride and quiet.
