I really don't like that chrome on the grille, so I kind of photochoped it, the mirror cap is just something I though would match the grille. What does everyone think?

I think it looks a little Ronald McDonald-y. But that's just me.

I'm not sure Chili Red and Mellow Yellow were ever meant to be together. Maybe if you can get something done that has more orange in it?

Maybe you can do the hood scoop while you're at it too! I think that would help balance the theme. Have fun!

Ewwww, no. If you must do it a color, do yellow or white. Just my $.02.

If you are going to put red lipstick on it, you should paint eyelashes above the headlights.

Try the grill lip in black, instead of red. Ditto for the mirror caps.

Having a little ketchup with your mustard? <img> It's a little out there, just my opinion.

I like the white! What about, if you want something a bit more unique, go for a small b/w checkered trim around the grill? Coordinate with the b/w checked mirror caps?

I think black for the grill surround would look good. If you don't want white mirrors have you thought of doing them body color? I think that would look great. My HB/W R53 sports HB covers. Body color is a nice option IMO.

While you are in Photoshop, you might as well experiment with other colors. As rooandren suggested, some shade of orange might be in interesting. Play with the value and saturation. It is often best to combine a saturated color (such as the yellow) with a less saturated color.

One of the problems with the red was it and yellow are saturated primary colors. That tends to look less sophisticated than variations in saturation, value, and mix.

I think the red would look okay if all the accents were red. but, in your picture, you had white stripes and a white roof. I think red stripes, red roof, red mirror, red scoop could look really sweet.

When I say Photoshop I really mean MS paint , I'm at work, can't really do much here. I'll try it once I get home, but in the mean time I went a little crazy and made pretty much all the chrome into white (headlight surround, side emblem, door handle, and the fuel door), maybe it's a little too much, but I really don't like chrome, can't you tell?

I want to avoid black as I'm in atlanta and the car will just get too hot, especially in the summer time.

I think the body color (MY) would look better than white around the grill.

Seems like the wheel well surrounds also need to be white.

My car is Chilli Red and had the grill painted the body color. Result: It looks great. I would have yours painted the body color too. It totally changes the cars frontal appearance. I didn't want the black JCW grill and thought this was the best way to be different as well. I think your MINI would look great with a Yellow grill trim... and you could add JCW carbon fiber trim covers if you want. My two pennies worth.

I like the white, try the wheel arches and lower trim in white ...I'd love to see how that looks.

I'll try the yellow grille once I get home. I wonder how it would look if I paint all the lower body moldings yellow too (wheel arches, front air damn, side skirts).
