Do all minis come with free maintenance for 3/36,000?

I am about to purchase a low milage used mini (from a non mini dealer)... and didn't know if it would come with the free maintenance.

 

Yes, the free maintenance is 3yrs/36,000 miles and the warranty is 4yrs/48,000 miles. All new MINIs come with this level of coverage.

 

In theory the car should have the free maintenance and be covered under warranty for the remainder of the 3/36 & 4/48 period respectively...but be careful! If the car was in a collision, or altered in any way...Mini may choose to void the warranty. Is this non-Mini dealer advertising this sale "With a Factory Warranty"? (This is important as you may have some recourse with the selling dealer if Mini does void the warranty).

If you want to be 100% sure...I'd have the car checked out by a Mini dealer (Hopefully a dealer is close by). You may have to pay for the Mini dealer to look at the car, but IMO that is a small price to pay...compared to buying the car and then finding out a major warranty repair will not be covered.

If the selling dealer refuses to allow you to have the car checked out...I'd walk away from the deal. Mini's have a high resale value and where I live, lots of used car dealers are selling "less than perfect" used Mini's as if they were in excellent condition. It is a high profit margin used car.
