Specially Sized Cups

This has probably been asked and answered many times ... but as a new Cabrio owner (Pepper White, Sidewalk) I don't know the answer. Is there anyone who sells travel mugs that are designed to fit the small cup holders on the center console? Thanks for your help.

This is the only one I've seen; there may be others:

The hardest part with any cup in those cupholders is changing gears. Can't tell you how many times I've spilled throwing 5th gear.

Grrrrrr. Yet again I have been fooled as to the subject matter of a post is. Anyway, Mini Mania also has a travel mug made for the cupholder.

MINI Cooper themselves sell some wonderful little travel mugs that are made to fit the consul cup holders exactly. (Wouldn't you expect it!) I have a pair of them. PN# red 80 23 0 409 504 clear 80 23 0 409 503

I have the little one from MINI Dealership. Doesn't hold much, so sometimes gets used as a shot glass!!

What? Some people actually try to use those things as cupholders?

The MiniFini's pivot right over the top of them - which I use as coin cups and holders for straw wrappers, mint wrappers, and other little trash. And the MiniFini will hold a monster Slurpee cup... or anything smaller...

Looks good, but would hit me right in the knee. (really like that shift boot)

I just have them pivoted like that for the picture. The rotate all the way inward so they're not near your knees. They click-rotate into any position you like...

Blimey, did you see all the UJ clothing that Triple C has? (Tempting you if you haven't.) The cup holders look great for an auto, but I think would get in the way for a stick. Like the set up in your cabrio!

Unfortunately, during my trial period, I kept hitting the cup when shifting into 5th (I didn't find it useful with a manual tranny and a passenger in the front). . . so i went back to OEM

Edit- the best solution is to not use those cup holders to hold cups -- instead drive with the seat all the way back and use the rear cup holder to hold the coffee mug

With the MiniFinis, or something else? On both sides, or one side?

What I do is typically use the passenger side one for a cup (when I don't have a passenger) and rotate it to the right so it would be out of the way of the stick or anything else you'd do around the stereo, etc.

When the cupholders are empty, the cupholder level is below the level of the shift **** - so shouldn't be any issues then regardless of how they're rotated. Of course, all theoretical for me, cause I don't have a manual...

^ I used a MiniFini on passenger side. It wasn't an issue with no passenger, 'cause I could rotate it to the right and out of the way (although I would sometimes brush up against the coffee mug when getting into 5th, even when rotated 'out of the way'). . . but if I tried to rotate it in when I had a passenger, any cup would definately be in the way.
You're right that it's a non-issue if empty -- I always have a mug on the morning commute though.

The OEM holder gets in the way of the third vent from the left when you need the air. I keep the empty cup in the map holder on back of the passanger seat. Blimey's holders are looking better all the time.
