Ecu retune at Stephen's Garage in Birmingham!

Well here is my review of the ECU retune from Stephen's Garage in Birmingham.
First off The car is even faster than before. I really did think that MTH Cartune was a good thing but the REtune software that Stephen has is much better.

Everything is very smooth now. When I hit the gas it goes. When I let off the gas I have a smooth return to normal. Before when I would let off the gas even at slow speeds I would get a snap back effect in the car. Gas Mileage is better now too.

Anyway the cost of the retune is a little more than MTH CARTune but it is a much better product.

BTW Stephen has moved to 4th ave s and 40th and he new localtion is really nice. When I was there for the retune there was like 5 Mini's there for oil changes or other small things. And ofcouse a lot of BMWs too.

I was at Stephen's Thursday for the A/C repair and will be there next week to replace the rad and cooling fan. Other than no A/C in the waiting room, I was quite pleased with the work.

Here is what happens. He downloads the file from your car. Then you give him a list of all your Engine Mods. He sends the file off to England to be retuned. Yes it is out of England!!! Not Germany like MTH. It is back with in one week. Mine was back in one weekend. Stephen told me I was the first to have this done so I was the beta tester. But it is just great.

I had to replace the Cooling Fan not too long ago. Not to hard of a job. But Yes I believe the A/c replacement could be hard. But then again all you have to do is take the whole car apart. . Anyway sorry to hear that about your MINI.

One more point. So I knew how to fix the Cooling Fan but when I called Stephen about it he basically told me how to fix it. I couldn't wait to get it into him at the time.

Sounds like you are having fun. BTW, would this be GT Tuning out of England where he is sending the file?

Get an exhaust then work yourself that way. I can tell you that my previous car with a 15% pulley felt totally different when I reinstalled the stock exhaust prior to trade in.

Uh oh, I hope the LDG patrol doesn't see my post.

The Tune software is called "performance tune". He used the code scanner he has to do the retune.

I could have done the rad & fan replacement, but not the A/C - no A/C tools here. Anyway, since its insurance-funded...

I dunno if I will be getting an aftermarket exhaust. I like my burble but I don't really want it louder than it already is
