I had one more gift to pickup post Christmas, so I was forced to venture to the mall in Marin against my better judgement. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to get a parking spot right by two other Minis!!!
Last Bay Area WMS Pulley Party
As the Bay area has been one of the best WMS Pulley Party sites historically, Webb Motorsports is holding the very last Pulley Party at Bay Bridge Motors in May. The date is tentatively set for May 27 and 28.
This will be MINI history! To be a part of it, simply reply to the post with your requested parts and time slot. Randy will update the schedule periodically to reflect it. RSVP with WMS listing the Mods requested.
This may be your last oportunity to have your car modified by Randy Webb.

We went 3 years ago, not in my MINI but in my Jeep Wrangler. It was fun but not terrific for us... Reno is not the prettiest destination, especially on the south end of town (we came via Tahoe and Carson City) but viewed cars on display at a hotel south of town and did not make it to the strip, but it is a good excuse for a drive! Keep us posted on time and location for a MINI caravan.

Windsor on the Green
Another try to get all of you Northbay REME members (and ALL MINI Owners) to come out to the Thursday Night on the Green in Windsor. Every Thursday night, through the summer, the Town of Windsor puts on a "Night on the Green". It's has an open farmers market, food vendors, music, and a Car Show. Its fun, family, and doesn't cost a penny. This Thursday (Aug. 10) features Charlie Musselwhite, Blues musician. He and his group will be performing, FREE!!!!
Bring your MINI/Mini, spouse, freinds, kids, folding chairs, and beverages and sit back and enjoy the evening. The MINIs are welcome to join in the car show, held at KC's Downtown Grille. They give out FREE raffel tickets with great prizes.
On nights when there are no musicians, they have "movie" night where they play old movies on a big screen in the town square. Bring your pillow and blanket and watch old Humphrey Bogart (or others) movies, while sitting back enjoying a chat and good time with freinds.

Alice and I are hosting an "End of Summer BBQ/Picnic" on Saturday September 9th, 3 PM, at our home in Citrus Heights.
If you plan on attending, please sign up on the REME Events calendar. I really need an accurate count so I'll know what quantities to provision.
We would provide a grill and hot dogs/ burgers, buns and condiments, paper plates, ice chests, etc.. You provide your own chairs or blanket, a side dish to share and your favorite beverages. Your kids and dogs are welcome, as long as you clean up after them (we don't need any land mines on our lawn!).
Also, this event will mark the World Premiere of my new film "REME Takes California", highlighting our participation in MTTS. You won't want to miss it!
I can provide local motel info for out-of-towner's. Everyone who signs up will receive an email with directions.
Would anyone like to coordinate games for the kids?

REME has been asked to be a part of the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival which has been an annual event in Sonoma since 1897. This is a charity event where the proceeds go to Valley of the Moon Children's House, Vineyard Workers Services, Hanna Boys Center, and Sonoma Valley High School Viniculture Scholorship.
Our MINI/Minis have been asked to participate in the parade. The cost of entry is $20/car and is a charitable donation. First place will receive a trophy/plaque, second & third will get ribbons. We will be limited to 30 MINI entrees. I would hope that REME can take care of that 30, if not, we will welcome other MINI clubs to enter.
Parade Application and Rules:
Download the registration form here.
The parade will be held, Sunday Sept. 24, 2006 at 12:00 noon in Sonoma CA. Other vehicles in the parade will be Classic Hot Rods, Show Motorcycles, Tractors and Farm Equipment in addition to marching bands, horses, and all the other Parade regulars.
Since we have a fairly busy schedule, please let me know ASAP if you are interested in this event. Please do so by either signing up on our calendar or by excluding yourself. I have been asked to try to help organize and get the other car clubs in this event.
You can find out more about the parade & the weekend events at http://sonomavinfest.org

In case you missed the original broadcast, Speed Channel is re-broadcasting the Monterey Historic Races from August. This is a two-hour broadcast that begins at 2PM Pacific Time TODAY!!!.
I did see a post somewhere that there is not alot of coverage on the MINI/Mini Cooper even though this year was "in-honor" of the Mini. I think I'll watch and see for myself.
I think Speed Channel is 607 on Directv and 408 on Comcast. Not sure about Dish.
