R56 Where to get R56 Roof Decal
Where to get R56 Roof Decal
Hello everyone,
this is my first post here and I have done a few searches with no luck. I have a 2007 MCS with sunroof and am looking for a Union Jack roof decal.
Any advice? I would prefer a perforated decal as well so I can actually enjoy some light coming in through the sunroof.
Thanks!

Not true. Some dealers have a large variety. You don't have to have them install it; you can just order it.
I thought that I saw that Asthetic Creations is having a NAM discount on roof decals.. Don't quote me on that.

I talked to the parts department. There are no listings at all for the Union Jack roof decal with perforations for 2007 models. They have no part numbers either.
If someone can provide me with a part number for a 2007 cooper S roof decal (Union Jack) perforated with sunroof, I would appreciate it.

It is the sunroof that is causing the problems. There were no doubts that I would be getting the Premium Package, basically can't live without heated seats and a sunroof is great for the few warm days we get each year.
mine was done by sunsportsigns.ca a local sign company.
He does make and print a lot of graphics and ship them all over North America. He as a lot of customers in the south that he prints and ships to, and then they have them installed. Mainly bill board signs..
Mine was the first MINI he did.
He has a set of Cd's that has all the body panel specs on it. Pulls it up, and then plays with how the graphic will look, quite cool actually.
I am not sure if '07 would be too new for him to have on those disc's of if he could get an update.
you could also try his asst. ashley@sunsportsigns.ca
How I came up with my Design. I was looking around and saw a furled jack and was talking with an employee on how to incorporate the 2 flags, he thought of 3 tears like from wolverine.. but tried that and you could not see enough of the can flag to tell what it was, so Mike and I came up with this, he put it on the comp. I looked at it, approved it, and then he installed it, the day I left for the '06 Dragon.. he he so it was fresh for it...
He has done ALL Of my graphic work on the vehicle. Betty
As the post above says, "Cooperflags" has what you want.

From their FAQ:
Q.My MINI has a sunroof; do you have a product that I can use? A.Yes. Cooper Flags offers all of our flags in two sunroof versions, solid vinyl and perforated window film that allows light in and the ability to see out of the vehicle. We use an optically clear over laminate on the perforated material to prevent dirt and other debris from settling in the holes. Without this laminate, it is difficult to keep it clean, and you risk premature fading of the inks from cleaning products and sun exposure. *You may request the perforated material without the over laminate if you are ordering a sunroof cover only. If it will be part of a full roof with sunroof, it will not have the same glossy appearance as the surrounding vinyl. Proper care is very important with this option as the perforated material was designed for the side and rear windows of vehicles where it only receives partial sun exposure. If not properly cleaned and conditioned, over exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat will dry out the vinyl over laminate and cause it to deteriorate where it crosses over the holes. However, with proper care and conditioning you can extend the life of the graphic. Even with the best care, the life of this product on the sunroof is no more than 2 years. This is in contrast to the 5 years you can expect with our solid vinyl products. Perforated vinyl is not recommended for the MINI in a cold weather area where it will be exposed to ice or snow build up and be subjected to freeze and thaw cycles. This material is not for everyone, you should consider all of the pros and cons, before making a decision on which material is best for you. You will receive a sample of a product we recommend for cleaning and conditioning of all our vinyl products. It is Aerospace 303 protectant, and will help the vinyl from prematurely drying out. There are many variables involved that effect the life of the vinyl, such as, is the car garaged during the day, is the car cleaned regularly, is the graphic cleaned and conditioned regularly, are petroleum based products used to clean the graphic (never use petroleum based products on vinyl), was it installed properly, etc. Even with the best care, and climate conditions, the perforated material will not have the life expectancy of solid vinyl. You can expect no more than 2 years with the perforated material. If you have any questions or concerns about any of our products, please give us a call at 1-877-50-FLAGS
