Airborne MINI - Almost finished! COOL pics

I'm almost done with the car! The wheels and tires are on and the pinstriping got done at the weekend. No pinstriped pics yet but I hope you like these pics from last weekend!

I am luh-uving the paint. The styling is cool but the paint makes the whole thing happen for me.

Very nice. I thought Airborne was going to do aero kits as well? From the renderings on the site, I can't wait for them.

Very nicely done, but from the paint schema, I would call it OPFOR MINI, rather than Airborne MINI.

For the non-military, OPFOR stands for Opposition Force - the MINI has a very 80's Soviet "thing" going on there.

I must say, Awesome looking whip!
Just wondering, When are the custom Airborn Body Kits going to be available. I was reading an article about there development. You guys have any real pics instead of the cads on the site?

Very striking! I dig the paintwork and the theming; very original and well executed.

I knew my idea for the white panels wasn't going to stay forever.

Yup the aero kits are happening. The boys are just taking their time so that the kits are 100% perfect. I'm liking the fact they are not rushing at all. I will keep you updated on it - I CANNOT wait for them though - the whole deal is bringing in some really subtle M3 type styling without any of the overly loud stuff we see in kits today. Its good timing as so many people leave warranty and go nuts!

Thanks a lot for the kind words - been putting some effort into it!

Are there any pics of these kits yet available?
Also, are there pre-orders being taken for the kit and what quantities are gonig to be available?

No pictures yet I'm afraid

They are working on an opportunity to get them made with a different vendor just now that would help make them even more affordable.

It was originally going to be done as a show car with a Carbon Fiber bodykit. That process was all lined up until they started getting WAY more interest than expected.

We talaked for a bit and as cool as a carbon kit is, it is seriously impractical (crash, chips, bumps etc...) so it looks like a lot more kits will be made but out of one of the more practical materials for body kits. Urethane/fiber etc. Design is all complete but they are now in this transition to a different material that will work out Much better for all of us.

You asked numbers - I think there will be at least a 1000 for worldwide. Joe (the designer) has interest from individuals and stockists from the Uk, mainland europe, S.A. and Oz so it's going nicely worldwide for them!

joe@joeiacono.com if you want to talk to him about pre-orders etc. PLEASE though, please please please, respect that this is a BUSY guy, he has shows that he works on for SPEED and A&E so only contact him if you're really serious about going for the kit.

Either that or fire Q's my way and I talk to the guys most days.

The article I read was talking about the C.F. kit.
I'm curious about cost for a complete kit:
F/R Bumpers, Side Skirts and Fenders.
Also, I've changed my grille to the Hamann Grille so I would like to keep that style going which is also more in the lines of a BMW Styling.
Let me know, I'm trying to stay a way from the Aero kit and think all the other complete kits do not do the mini any justice.

Please keep me posted or PM me as you hear more.

Thanks.

Yeah, the original articles were about the CF kit. We all know how cool that would be, but just a bit impractical. We may still make a one-off C.F. kit at some point.

I'll keep you updated

Correct!
It would look great but definetly impractical.
Look forward to more info on the regular kit.
