Brake Pad Replacement / Rotors Questions
How many miles can I expect to drive (not hard driving) before brake pads need replacement?
My past experience says rotors only need replacement if the brake pads are allowed to get too thin. Some forum comments leave the impression that, on the MINI Cooper, the rotors need replacement when brake pads need replacement, or at least every other time pads are replaced. True? Comments? If so, why?
Forum comments leave the impression that brake jobs on the MINI Cooper are significantly more expensive than on other cars. True? Comments? If so, why?

i just replaced my brake pads about 2 months ago. I just had my rotors milled. I will probably replace/upgrade them on the next pad replacement.
Price, about 230 for me, that included brakes and labor. I would upgrade to a better aftermarket pad, get rid of the OEM pads, they create so much dust.
